Balanced: A Patient Diary. Week One ๐
One week on my testosterone pellet. I'm holding off on progesterone for now, one thing at a time, so I can see how this alone makes me feel.
Days two through seven, I could not believe it. More energy than I can remember having. No coffee needed, and at the end of the day I actually want to go for a run.
Follow along as I share how it's going, week by week.
Everyone's experience is different. Talk to your provider at CHS Hormone about what's right for you.

Tired of under-eyes that look tired?
PDGF (platelet-derived growth factor) is a regenerative treatment designed to support your skinโs natural production of collagen and elastin, helping improve the appearance and quality of the delicate skin under the eyes over time.
Unlike traditional filler, which adds volume, PDGF works by supporting your skinโs own regenerative processes - making it an option for patients looking for a more natural approach to under-eye rejuvenation.
Results can continue to develop over time and may last 6โ12 months or longer, depending on the individual.
Curious if PDGF is right for you? Request a consultation through the link in our bio or call 843.508.8123.
Balanced: ๐ ๐ฃ๐ฎ๐๐ถ๐ฒ๐ป๐ ๐๐ถ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐.
I'm 51 and I still have a cycle, but my labs came back in the ๐ฝ๐ผ๐๐๐บ๐ฒ๐ป๐ผ๐ฝ๐ฎ๐๐๐ฎ๐น range. Six weeks earlier, my estradiol was 372. This time it was 13.3.
Stephanie explained that hormones fluctuate throughout the month. One blood draw is only a snapshot, which is why she listens to how her patients feel as well as what the numbers say.
She walked me through my options: creams, patches, oral medications, pellets and injections. Based on everything, she suggested we start with testosterone and progesterone, the safest place for me to start right now.
I chose the pellet. She inserted it the same day, and I picked up a compounded progesterone on my way out.
I've officially started. Next entry: how week one felt.

Hormone therapy isn't one-size-fits-all and
At CHS Hormone, treatment is ๐ฝ๐ฒ๐ฟ๐๐ผ๐ป๐ฎ๐น๐ถ๐๐ฒ๐ฑ based on your symptoms, lab results, health history, lifestyle and preferences.
Hormone therapy may be delivered in several different forms, including creams, patches, oral medications, pellets, injections and vaginal estrogen.

For some patients, pellet therapy may be a good option because it offers long-lasting hormone delivery without the need to remember a daily cream, pill or patch. Dosing is individualized, and pellets typically provide hormone delivery over several months before another treatment is needed.
But pellets are one option - not the only option.
Our goal is to help you understand the choices available and work with you to determine an approach that makes sense for your body, your lifestyle and your goals.

Hello and Happy 2026 from the Practitioners at CHS ๐
As we embark on a new year.. this is your reminder to prioritize your health appointments for the year. Routine health screenings save livesโand theyโre a cornerstone of proactive, preventive care.
Mammograms and Pap smears help detect breast and cervical changes early. PSA lab checks can identify prostate concerns before symptoms appear. Bone density testing helps assess fracture risk and detect osteoporosis early. Colorectal screenings such as Cologuardยฎ and colonoscopy play a critical role in identifying colon cancer and precancerous changes.
These tests arenโt just recommendationsโtheyโre powerful tools for early detection, risk reduction, and long-term health.
Have questions about which screenings are right for you? Ask CHS Hormone.
If youโre an established patient and would like us to order any of these screening tests for you, please contact our officeโweโre happy to help guide you every step of the way. ๐

๐ Stop Ignoring Your High Blood Pressure! ๐
Itโs called the โsilent killerโ for a reasonโmost people feel fine while itโs quietly damaging the heart, brain, and kidneys.
โ ๏ธ Common Excuses We Hear:
๐ฃ๏ธ โItโs just stress or I was rushing over hereโ
โก๏ธ Stress can raise BP, but chronic hypertension doesnโt go away when stress does.
๐ฃ๏ธ โI have white coat syndrome or it was fine at the P*P last week โ
โก๏ธ Even occasional spikes can signal risk. Home monitoring often reveals the truth.
๐ฃ๏ธ โI feel fine, it must be your cuffโ
โก๏ธ High BP rarely causes symptoms until itโs dangerously high or causes a heart attack/stroke.
๐ฃ๏ธ โIt runs in my family, so I am going to start eating better and letโs check it again next timeโ
โก๏ธ Genetics play a role, but lifestyle changes may not be enough to lower your blood pressure.
๐ฅ Why It Matters:
โข #1 RISK for heart attack & stroke
โข Damages the brain, raising dementia risk
โข Wears down your kidneys
โข Speeds up artery aging and enlarges your heart
โจ The Fix:
Lowering BP (even by 5โ10 points) slashes heart and stroke risk (AHA research).
โ
Eat balanced
โ
Move daily
โ
Manage stress
โ
TAKE meds if prescribed
FYIโฆ Estrogen helps maintain BP in women and Testosterone helps maintain BP in men (September Medscape Article 2025 : S*x Hormones Drive Pressure Regulation)
Also note that New ACC/AHH guidelines recommend early treatment and levels should be 130/80 or LESS
