Summer is harder on your body than you think ☀️🥾🚴‍♀️🪏🧑‍🌾🏓

People assume summer is the easy season. You are outside, you are moving, you feel good. 🙌🏻

Here is what we actually see this time of year:
•Dehydration tightens fascia faster than almost anything. When you are not drinking enough, that connective tissue throughout your body loses pliability. Movement gets restricted. Muscles fatigue quicker. Recovery takes longer.

•Yard work and gardening put people in positions they are not conditioned for: bent forward for an hour, reaching and pulling, carrying. The next three days are rough.😓

•Heat causes people to carry tension differently. The jaw, the temples, the base of the skull. Summer headaches are often muscular, not sinus.

•Weekend athletes come in on Mondays. Pickleball, hiking, swimming, golf. All great. All hard on specific muscle groups that are probably not getting the recovery they need.
