Hair Designs in Mount Vernon

May 15th🎉!!! I’m so excited to get back to what I love!! Ok...Hair Designs family...I’ve been working on this for two months blindly w just my thoughts, and after reading through state regulations this evening...this is what notification I’ve come up with for clients. You are my PEOPLE, so I welcome and want any suggestions, changes...good bad or ugly...I want your help and advice as to if we have it all covered to make you feel safe??

Covid-19...Our PLAN is in place, to keep us all safe❤️
-IF YOU ARE SHOWING SYMPTOMATIC SIGNS, PLEASE RESCHEDULE.
-When arriving for your appointment, call or text us and wait in your vehicle until we call for you. PLEASE be on time and patient with us as we work through this.
-MASKS - We will be wearing masks and requiring that our clients do as well to protect the safety of others. We can offer a mask to clients if needed. (NOTE...A very Special Thank You and Appreciation to our clients who have helped provide them for us:)!
-One client, per stylist in the salon at a time. Anyone accompanying a client, UNLESS you are a caregiver, will be required to wait outside, on our patio or in your vehicle to reduce over crowding inside and to keep our waiting area and salon as safe as possible.
-Unfortunately, we need to remove magazines, our kids toy box, candy jars😩 and Avon sale basket for awhile, because honestly, how can we possibly sanitize and keep up with those...so sorry kiddos:(
-We will allow adequate time for each client and will NOT be overlapping appointments unless you are an immediate family member or a caregiver. Our waiting area can only allow for 2 chairs at this time.
-We will allow extra time between each client to take extra sanitation precautions before and after each client that enters the salon, which includes...wiping down door handles, styling chairs, sinks, tools, bathroom, ect.
❤️Please be assured that we are doing everything we can possibly do to keep our clients, ourselves and all of our loved ones as safe as we possibly can. We have MISSED our salon family terribly and are anxious to get back to doing what we love! We will do what ever it takes to help make you feel safe and beautiful!

I have the most amazing, loving clients...as I’ve always said, are more considered like family and friends❤️. My head is spinning and yep, panicked a bit today. I am overwhelmed with the messages, calls and texts of support and love received in the last few hours. WE will get through this, together, and I see it very clearly with every message I recieve. Ohio State is Mandating ALL salons to close effective tonight. I’m uncertain yet on exactly how long but Amy and I are contacting everyone personally that are on our books, starting w tomorrow and the next few days to schedule a couple of weeks out. We will do our best to get you all taken care of as soon as we believe we can, we will keep in close contact. Health is first and foremost and we value each and every one of our clients wellbeing and safety. Again...I am beyond words of the love and support we are feeling from our salon family. We will be in touch❤️

Is 12 hour shifts with one bathroom break

Is not washing or styling your own hair for a week straight because you’re exhausted from doing everyone else’s

Is getting color on your new shirt the first time you wear it

Is being shown the same Pinterest picture 5 times in a row with 5 completely different starting points

Is learning to scarf down a meal in 2 minutes flat

Is always having stained hands and fingernails therefore always repeating, “I do hair”, when you catch people staring

Is coming home on a Saturday and wanting nothing more than a hot bath, foot rub, and Netflix marathon

Is texts at 11:00pm wondering what openings you have coming up

Is last minute cancellations & no-shows

Is weekly chiropractic visits

In Hair winding up in every crevice of your body imaginable

Is being able to do chemistry while carrying on a full conversation

Is at times not feeling adequate

Is carrying the pressure of how someone feels about themselves

✂️BUT the Life If a Hairstylist is so much more..

It’s passion, art, and creativity all in one

It’s being surrounded by people who love their craft as much as you

It’s being pushed to not only grow your skills but also your mind on a daily basis

It’s being there for people in ways you never thought you’d be

It’s never getting tired of puting a smile on someone’s face

It’s earning trust and building relationships with strangers

It’s connecting with people face to face rather than behind a screen

It’s being with people and listening through graduations, deaths, marriages, breakups, babies, illnesses, houses

It’s the feeling you get when you share with someone happiness, confidence, and kindness

It’s the hardest thing I’ve ever done yet also the most rewarding

This profession has not only become a job for me over the years but it is a huge part of my life, it is my family, my friends. It was an emotional day at the salon for me yesterday. Two very special ladies, near and dear to my heart, that I’ve known and loved for many years...touched my heart in a way i can’t even explain. One very special woman is going home to the Lord soon, in hospice care...any time now...this saddens me so. She has given me so much encouragement and strength through the years and taught me to be a stronger woman through the hardest of times in my life. She has given my daughter encouragement and love since the day she was born as if she was her own granddaughter. She is such a beautiful woman through and through...I can’t imagine this world without her in it😢
My other client of many years...a strong, energetic, independent woman who is becoming more and more frail... just burst into tears in the middle of her appointment and said to me “Jenny, i just love you...you are a good woman”. I hugged her, I cried with her, I told her I loved her too.
This is why I love what i do so much. For all the people this profession has given me over the years...for the people who have touched my life in a way that makes me a better me. Bless you❤️
