Happy Anniversary Grace Beauty & Barber College! ✨
19 years, 11 months, 6,940 days ago—on May 1, 2007—we made history as Muncie & East Central Indiana’s first Black-owned beauty college.
The journey hasn’t been easy—cancer, loss, setbacks, anxiety, and real-life trials—but we kept going.
And by the grace of God…
✔️ Opened our Workforce Development & Mental Health Hub in Indianapolis
✔️ Built a team of 22 employees
✔️ Secured state contracts & grant funding
✔️ Helped create Indiana’s cosmetology/barber apprenticeship programs
✔️ Raised a family that now stands and works beside us
Through it all, we learned to trust God.
đź—Ł THANK YOU JESUS!!!

Happy Anniversary!!!!
Grace Beauty & Barber College!
Nineteen years, 11 months, 990 weeks, and a total of 6,940 days ago, our family made history. We opened Muncie and East Central Indiana's first Black owned Beauty College. May 1, 2007 is a day I'll never forget! Yesterday we officially opened our Grace Beauty & Barber workforce development and mental health hub in Indianapolis. Much has happened in the last 19 years....from having emergency surgery, Cancer, moving 4 times, death of loved ones Covid-19, getting a Masters Degree, having panic attacks, and Anxiety, failed license exams, obtaining both my LSW and LCSW. Paying our property off and building a new office, almost getting my Beauty College Closed! Kid going to jail, kid nearly killed in a car accident, all my kids graduating from high school one got his Barber Licensed, one got his Masters Degree, 3 obtaining parperfessional DMHA certifications 4 have preached the word. All of them work for our family business. Advocating for Indiana to start Cosmetologist/Barbering Apprenticeship. The law past and we wrote policy for four programs. We became the first Sponsor with a 4 course Apprenticeship program in the state, now others are using our policies to get their own, which is super cool to me... we opened a Mental Health wraparound agency. We have 22 employees. We have 4 contracts with the state. Wrote 4 grant and got funded. Started Respect Youth Initiative with a team of phenomenal people. Wrote a Culturally Adaptive Parenting System, call Raising Resilience & a Parenting Simulator which aims to heal generational trauma. We have partner with a major university to pilated this program for evidence based practices. Founding member and Vice President of the Muncie-Delaware County Black Chamber of Commerce and so much more.....Through it all, we've learned to trust in Jesus, we've learned to trust in God!!!!
đź—ŁTHANK YOU JESUS!!!!!
