Want to know why I don’t recommend home microneedling devices? Look at the effects of dermal rollers on a banana peel compared to a professional microneedling device. The angled entry of dermal rollers produces uneven channels that can tear the skin. Dermarollers produce uneven slashes in your skin. Repeated use over time can cause more harm than good.
Professional microneedling devices produce even vertical channels and no tears in the skin.
Controlled and accurate channeling in the skin.
Predictable and precise.
It’s also difficult to sterilize dermal rollers completely and the last thing you want to do is innoculate your skin with bacteria e.
Stick to professional microneedling done in a professional practice.

What factors affect the incidence rate of vascular occlusion? Occurrence is not common.
In this study from 2021, 370 dermatologists who did 1.7 million injections were looked at.

Conclusions and relevance: In this cohort study, filler iniections with either needles or cannulas were
associated with a very low risk of intravascular occlusion events. Moreover, the vast majority of such
events were minor and resolved without scar or other
injury. Injections with microcannulas were less often
associated with occlusion events than iniections with
needles. Occlusion risk per syringe appeared decreased after the first few years of clinical practice
and was also lower among those who more frequently inject fillers. Whether a needle or cannula
is most appropriate for injection may depend on patient factors, anatomic site, and the type of defect being treated.

Providers and clients want to know more about the long term affects of treatments. We Need more studies looking at the long term effects of treatments. This study is often referenced when discussing the long term effects of Botox.
Researchers studied a set of identical twins:
Twin A: did not have consistent botox treatments (only had a total of 2 treatments over the course of 13 years
Twin B: maintained botox treatments consistently over the course of 13 years
This really shows how effective Botox can be in preventing wrinkles when treatment starts early and is maintained. Look at the difference in the skin between the two twins! Twin B is glowing-she looks well-rested and refreshed, with less eyelid hooding and no wrinkles at rest. Twin A has static wrinkles that have developed from repetitive muscle movement over many years.
