As a salon, we often times feel it in our hearts to help those in need. Whether it is something small or big, all of us at Studio One Two One love helping others. This time it is one of our own who we feel the need to help. As many of our customers know our very own Gabby & Dugan Pearson are on their IVF journey. This is a very exciting, but costly journey, and we want to help in any way we can. So we have decided to do a fundraiser with super cute tshirts!! If you or anyone else you may know wants to purchase a t-shirt, 100% of the proceeds with go to the Pearson’s.
T-Shirts will be $25 adults, $20 kids ( we have 3 options on shirts)
We accept cash or check, if you need to pay through another source contact Deeraya Darnall (270)227-9884 or feel free to message her facebook.
We are also attaching their story for anyone who hasn’t heard about it.
About 5 years ago we decided it was time to try and start a family. I had been diagnosed with endometriosis and had multiple surgeries to remove that, hoping for the next “fertile window” that never came. After many failed attempts we were sent to a fertility clinic in April of 2022. We were told my levels were low and we should probably think about our options in the near future. Fast forward to February 2023, we decided to get a second option at the infertility center of St. Louis. My Dr was very straight forward, stating my egg count was extremely low, definitely for my age - he thinks due to the amount of surgeries to remove the endometriosis. Which I was never told could harm my eggs - and that within the year I would most likely run out of eggs and never have the chance of having a child with my DNA. He recommended we start the IVF process immediately.
So we did just that. We started in March of 2023, my first egg retrieval was in April and they were able to get 1 egg. Thank the good Lord it fertilized and made it to blast, so we now have a beautiful embryo in a cryo freezer waiting to be transferred!
The only problem is, that’s never a guarantee it will “stick”. Our dr recommended we do another egg retrieval to try and get at least 1-2 embryos banked for “insurance” because if we waited much longer, my eggs would be completely gone.
We decided to move forward with that. The next round started in June, egg retrieval was in July. We had 1 follicle maturing nicely with 2 slowly behind. When that follicle was mature, they decided it was time for the retrieval. Unfortunately, that follicle was empty and we did not get any eggs. The other 2 never matured at all. It was heartbreaking and devastating hearing those words, but we know God has a plan.
Our dr then advised we should try one more time before a transfer. We are praying daily that He will bless us with at least one more embryo so we have more of a chance. The plan is to try again approximately in September.
This will be our final retrieval, and if God has a different plan for us, we will humbly move to the next step.
IVF is more than I ever thought it would be. It’s so many emotions all at the same time. Fighting for your miracle, while trying to be realistic. Financially its a huge strain, missing work, and the countless appointments. It’s trying to stay positive when getting negative news. It’s heartbreaking but heartwarming all in one.
I pray for all these IVF parents out there daily, because this road is not easy but it will be oh so worth it. None of this would be possible without the help of all our friends and family, even strangers that have lent a helping hand. We appreciate each and everyone of you more than you will ever know.
