We know it’s tempting to go after it with tweezers, but picking creates more problems than it solves. You’re risking scarring, infection, and making the irritation worse.

Here’s what works. Gently exfoliate the area 2-3 times a week to clear dead skin buildup so the hair can surface naturally. Use a warm compress to soften the skin and help the trapped hair work its way out. Keep the area clean and moisturized so your skin stays soft and healthy, which prevents future ingrowns from forming in the first place.

Most ingrown hairs will resolve on their own with consistent aftercare. Give it time and resist the urge to dig.
