14 years ago today, I opened the door to Studio 513
Early Oct 2011, I quit my booth rent job on a whim and had no idea what my plans were. One of my favorite friends called me 2 days later and said “We just looked at a space that is too small for us but I think it might be perfect for you”
I called the number, signed the lease (without Brian even seeing the building first) made up a name, got a CRASH course in business ownership and one week later with the help of family and friends working non stop with me, Studio 513 is a thing.
I have stood in this exact spot for 14 years spending time with some of my favorite humans on earth, doing something I am still passionate and excited about, and living a dream I had when I was in middle school. I am so lucky.
To everyone who helped me open the door and to everyone who has continued to support me as an artist in this little shop, THANK YOU!
Extra thank you to my husband who always says “go for it” when I tell him I am considering something outside my comfort zone. There is something to be said about a spouse who supports craziness unconditionally and gives you a landing spot should you fall.

Studio 513 is officially a teenager today! I can’t believe it’s been 13 years of hair transformations, endless conversations, and probably (definitely) a few too many cups of coffee!
