In 1945, the majestic RMS Queen Elizabeth sailed into New York Harbor, carrying thousands of service members returning home after the end of World War II. The ship, towering and proud, was a symbol of hope, relief, and the long-awaited return to normalcy after years of fear and sacrifice.
