Housed inside the historic Texas & Pacific Railroad Depot, the museum helps tell the story of Atlanta and Cass County through exhibits on local history, railroads, farming, military history, and aviation. One highlight is its tribute to Bessie Coleman, born in Atlanta in 1892 and remembered as the first African American woman to earn a pilot’s license.
Located at 101 N. East Street, the museum is part of the Atlanta Visitor Center & Museum and is a great stop for anyone exploring the northern reaches of the Texas Forest Trail.
