I don’t know when or where we decided contouring meant smearing a little bronzer into the hollows of someone’s cheeks and calling it a day. When we contour and highlight, we’re literally using light and shadow to manipulate bone structure! When you think about it, it’s one of the most transformative parts of complexion work.

When I’m contouring a face, the first thing I do is feel around for their natural bone structure. (If you’ve been to my masterclass you know what I say: “WHERE are the bones!?”)

I’m thinking about how I can use light and shadow to subtly lift, sculpt, and enhance what’s already there.. while being mindful not to OVER sharpen or enhance the face. It’s a super delicate balance!
