Dawn Conder The Face Naturalist
I am a licensed Esthetician, based in Naples, Florida.
As a certified Gua Sha Facialist it is my passion to treat the skin holistically through ancient healing techniques, products with health conscious ingredients, and lifestyle balance.
đStop rushing through life, and carrying stress your body was never meant to hold.
As a holistic esthetician, Iâve seen firsthand how stress can show up on the skinâŚbreakouts, inflammation, dullness, puffiness, sensitivity, tension, and accelerated aging.
Your skin is always in tune with whatâs happening internally.
Sometimes the most powerful thing you can do for your skin isnât another productâŚitâs slowing down, regulating your nervous system, getting outside, breathing deeper, and letting go of whatâs out of your control.
Healing isnât just topicalâŚglowing skin starts from withinâ¨.
Whatâs one thing youâre learning to let go of latelyđ?

One of the most fulfilling things in life is giving from a place of genuine serviceđ¤.
The people who leave the biggest impact arenât always the ones chasing moneyâŚtheyâre the ones showing up with purpose, creating value, and caring deeply about the people they serveâ¨.
When you focus on helping, uplifting, and genuinely pouring into others, people can feel the difference.
Always lead with heart, integrity, and purpose, and success will follow naturally.
Thatâs the beauty of being a giverđŤ.

âSensitive skinâ isnât a skin typeâŚoften itâs your skin waving a tiny flag for help đĽ.
If your skin suddenly burns when you apply products, gets red for no reason, or just seems constantly âangryââŚthereâs a good chance your skin barrier is compromised.
Your skin barrier is your skinâs built-in bodyguardâŚlocking moisture in and keeping pollution, harsh ingredients, bacteria, and irritants out.
When this barrier is weakened, it can cause your skin to lose moisture faster and becomes more vulnerable to irritation, dryness, and inflammation.
Signs your barrier may be compromised:
đŠ Redness
đŠ Dry patches
đŠ Stinging products
đŠ Flushing
đŠ Increased sensitivity
đŠ Breakouts + irritation happening together
đŠ Skin that feels âhotâ or inflamed
The fix for a compromised skin barrier isnât aggressive treatments. Itâs scaling your routine back to the basics, and supporting with hydrating and calming ingredientsđ¤.
Healthy skin starts with a healthy barrier. Scroll through the graphics, for tips to repairing a weakened skin barrier.

Glass skin? BabeâŚhalf the internet is one ring light away from looking like a glazed donutđŠ.
But the truth is, normal skin has texture, pores, and the occasional breakoutâŚand thatâs completely okay!
⨠Pores? That means your skin can breathe.
⨠Texture? That means youâre a living human, not a porcelain doll.
⨠The occasional blemish? Just your skin keeping life interesting.
Skincare isnât about chasing perfection, itâs about nourishing, balancing, and embracing the skin youâre in. So letâs give ourselves some grace (and maybe a little Gua Sha and LED love while weâre at it).

Skin cancer can be sneakyâŚit doesnât always look the way youâd expectđ¤.
As an esthetician, Iâve been trained to notice skin changes. But back in 2019, when this picture was taken, I honestly thought this was just a small flesh-colored mole. A month later, my dermatologist diagnosed it as basal cell carcinoma, and I had to undergo Mohs surgery to remove it.
Now when I look back at older photos, I can see that it had slowly gotten bigger over timeâŚwhich is one of the hallmark warning signs of skin cancer. Thankfully, my dermatologist caught it, which is exactly why I never skip my annual full body skin checks.
May is Skin Cancer Awareness Month, so hereâs your reminder to schedule your yearly skin exam and do monthly mirror checks at home. Skin cancer often hides in plain sight.
đ Know your ABCDEs:
âď¸ Asymmetry
âď¸ Border irregularity
âď¸ Color changes
âď¸ Diameter larger than a pencil eraser
âď¸ Evolving (any change in size, shape, or color)
𧴠As an esthetician and someone who has had several skin cancer surgeries, daily SPF is non-negotiable for me.
I personally prefer mineral sunscreen (zinc oxide or titanium dioxide) over chemical sunscreens.
Sunscreen reminders:
đĄ Apply enough (about a shot glass for the body)
đĄ Reapply every 2 hours
đĄ Donât forget easy-to-miss spots
When was your last skin check, is it time?
