We have received a distress alert from a group of over 100 women, children and 250 men currently being held for ransom in Zawiya, Libya. The warehouse where they are being held is known as the "Oussama Prison", or .

130 of them were captured at sea on May 2, 2025. These women tell us we are sexually abused.

Militias demand between 6,000 and 11,000 Libyan dinars for their release.

They report the murders of their colleagues, at sea and in the warehouse.

Their access to food and drinking water is extremely limited.

TUNISIA. 🇹🇳

1️⃣It's true that some sub-Saharan migrants in Tunisia 🇹🇳 may behave badly, but we shouldn't generalize. Many of them are normal people who respect the country's laws. Of course, when you live in a foreign country, you have to follow its rules, but the Tunisian National Guard often goes overboard with its arrests.

2️⃣Arresting young migrants just because they don't have papers, even those who do, is not fair. There are also undocumented Tunisians 🇹🇳 in other countries, and yet they are not treated the same way. All over the world, including the United States, 🇺🇸 there are undocumented immigrants, but they are not treated like criminals.

3️⃣If a migrant is doing something illegal, then yes, it's normal to arrest them. But if they're just trying to earn an honest living, why prosecute them? They must be given the opportunity to work, especially since many of them do jobs that young Tunisians 🇹🇳 refuse. For a salary of 650 dinars
