You know we love our clients. You know we love our community. But did you know… we love the earth, too! 🌎💚

Caring for people and caring for our planet go hand in hand, so we’ve made thoughtful choices to reduce waste wherever we can.

A few examples you’ll see around Exhale:
🌿 Zero-waste hand soap in our restroom, sourced from our friends at SHIFT. (With 5 massage therapists washing our hands before and after every session, that’s a lot of handwashing!)
💧 A filtered water system connected directly to our plumbing, so there’s no need for plastic water bottles or large refill jugs.
🌱 During the growing season, many of the herbs and fruits that flavor our infused water are grown right outside on our deck (today is cucumber and peppermint 😍).
🧺 Cloth hand towels that are washed after every use instead of thrown away.
🍃 Our partnership with Mother Compost, which helps us compost our infused water scraps, tea bags, and compostable cups.

These may seem like small choices, but together they make a meaningful difference. We believe caring for ourselves, caring for one another, and caring for the world around us are all part of the same practice. 💚

When was the last time you gave yourself permission to simply…pause?

Not to be productive. Not to check one more thing off the list. Just to breathe.

Breath, Rest & Stillness is a gentle midday practice designed to help your nervous system settle. We begin with a small amount of accessible movement to help ease the body, then spend most of our time exploring breathwork, guided relaxation, meditation, and the quiet practices that help us reconnect with ourselves.

No yoga experience is necessary, and there’s no expectation to be flexible or “good at yoga.” If you can breathe, you already have everything you need.

If your week could use a little more ease, I’d love to welcome you tomorrow (Wednesday) at 12:30 PM.

I hope you’ll join us. 💜

Questions for your Tuesday morning: 2:15 PM or 4:00 PM? Which of today's last-minute openings will you claim with Caitlin? And will you book a relaxing facial massage, a mixed modality therapeutic or a hurts-so-good deep tissue?

Hopefully these are the hardest questions you have to answer today 😉

Massage therapy can help with so much more than sore muscles. 💛

It can help reduce stress, improve sleep, ease headaches and jaw tension, calm an overwhelmed nervous system, support recovery, and create space for your body to simply breathe again.

The best part? Every massage should be tailored to you. Your body is different from everyone else’s, and what you need today may be different from what you needed last month. That’s why every session at Exhale is customized to meet you where you are.

If your body has been asking for a little extra care, we do have appointment openings available this week. You can book anytime through the Mindbody app, at https://www.exhalemainline.com/appointments, or send us a DM and we’re happy to help.

Now we’d love to hear from you!

What keeps you coming back for massage therapy? Or, if you’ve never had one before, what’s something you’d hope massage could help with?

Meet Dana! Dana has been a massage therapist for 18 years, and has a clinical eye that is skilled at both deep relaxation and deep tissue.

Whether you are scheduling a mixed modality therapeutic massage or a specialty offering such as cupping or instrument assisted fascial mobilization, she's got your back 😉

You are warmly invited to scoop up one of her last-minute openings for tomorrow/Monday, at 12:45 or 2:15.

Schedule via the Mindbody app, at https://www.exhalemainline.com/appointments or send us a DM.

Create a wonderful week!

Did you know that massage therapists in Pennsylvania are required to be licensed?

Many people don’t realize just how much goes into becoming - and remaining - a Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT). Licensure doesn’t exist simply to create hoops for massage therapists to jump through. It exists to help protect the public.

To become licensed in PA, massage therapists must complete:
• At least 600 hours of education
• Extensive hours in anatomy, physiology, pathology, kinesiology, ethics, assessment, contraindications, and hands-on techniques
• A state licensing examination
• A criminal background check

Then, every two years, we’re required to complete:
• 24 hours of continuing education
• Ethics training
• Mandatory child abuse recognition and reporting training
• CPR (re)certification

Why does all of this matter?

Because massage therapists aren’t just trained in how to massage - we’re trained in when massage is appropriate, when it should be modified, and when it shouldn’t be performed at all. We learn to recognize health conditions, medications, injuries, pregnancies, surgeries, and other situations that affect how massage should be provided safely.

Unfortunately, unlicensed massage practice does exist. While no single sign tells the whole story, some potential red flags include:
• Prices that seem dramatically lower than the local market
• No health history or intake before your first session
• Businesses advertising only “reflexology” while appearing to provide full-body massage
• Poor hygiene or cleanliness
• An inability or unwillingness to provide a PA massage license number

The good news? Verifying a license takes less than a minute.

Visit:
https://www.pa.gov/services/dos/verify-a-professional-or-occupational-license

Search by profession and name to confirm that your massage therapist’s license is active.

Your body deserves care from someone who has met professional standards and is committed to maintaining them 🙏
