Don’t let me pull out the prickly pear

POV: your client used black box dye… 3 times… and now she’s getting married in a week and “just wants to be brown.” 😅

This was a SIX HOUR color correction and honestly? These transformations are never one-step magic. We started with years of black box dye buildup, so the first thing I did was a soap cap to gently start lifting out that artificial dark pigment without shocking her hair.

And yes — I applied the soap cap right at the chair instead of the bowl so I could really watch the lift happen in real time and control every section differently. With color corrections like this, placement and timing are EVERYTHING.

The goal wasn’t blonde.
The goal wasn’t perfection.
The goal was SOFT, wearable, healthy-looking brown for her wedding day

Did we get every single dark band out? No.
But we protected the integrity of her hair while shifting her from harsh black box dye to a much softer, dimensional brunette.

Color corrections take patience, strategy, and realistic expectations — especially with box color. But seeing her smile at the end made all 6 hours worth it 🤍

You’d be surprised how much color I don’t get on me
