Sadness, Inside Out
12/06/2021
Most weekends I try to maximize my days with productive creativity and planning, but I don't always feel like I achieve it.
This weekend I started writing out an idea which inspired large measurable goals.
Goals that I was not expecting would be acheived using this particular route.
Goals most may believe are out of reach. But if it was easy and within my reach then it wouldn't be a goal.
There are many ways you can leverage your creativity, talents, and gifts to accomplish goals which may seemingly not be aligned. Think different. Be nontraditional. Write it down, make a plan, and then execute.
How do you know if it's the right plan?
1. Is the success of each step measurable?
2. Does each step/goal contribute to the overall goal?
3. Do others believe it's far fetched?
Sounds right to me π€·πΏββοΈ
And don't feel stuck if you have to make changes or adjustments or if the goal changes as you learn and grow. It's all apart of the process.

On Thursday I had the opportunity to watch an advanced screening of the new movie .
I left inspired and full of cosplay and makeup/face paint ideas I wanted to try. I don't want to go into too much detail about this look in an effort to avoid spoilers, but as soon as I saw it, I knew this was the one.
With every new look I try I usually learn things about myself, but this one was definitely a reminder. It's time. It's time for me to start playing with prosthetics.
I realized this when I recreated Gamora, when I tried this look on my arm, and this was a reminder. I love detailed looks. I take pride in them. Now, I don't consider this a truly detailed look because there is more I would have added. However, I prefer detailed looks to be more permanent.
I want to be able to reapply the look in the future, so.... prosthetics- my next move. Enjoy watching this learning curve I'm going to be on ππ©.
It's going to be worth it for me and hopefully you will enjoy the journey, too, and be able to say, "I remember when you made that busted xyz, but look at you now!" π
Y'all the real MVPs. I appreciate how you all encourage me, DM and recommend makeup looks, reach out to me to do your makeup, and overall just support my art.
Thank you, for real. And thank you to all of you who participated in the giveaway and showed up to the screening. ππΏππΏππΏ I'm thankful and blessed.

It's funny how the Scarecrow didn't realize he had everything he needed until the Wizard told him.
And then to seal the deal, he provided a diploma so everyone would know the Scarecrow was "not just a nothin', head all full of stuffin'."π€·πΏββοΈ
Sometimes that is what it feels like in the corporate world. There are certain professions in which specialized education should be required, such as the medical field or chemical engineering, but others the risk is low when providing someone the opportunity to gain experience instead.
Some of the most recognized "brilliant and innovative minds" never completed or went to college, and yet many of the people who are their employees, are required to have these documents.
I'm all about raising the bar, but who is truly being kept out? Who are the targets?
Are we making it more difficult for those who are capable and have the drive, to "change their stars" ?
What are we doing? Just morning thoughts.
FYI- I completed my MBA in 6 months start to finish at a cost of less than 4k.
I told myself I didn't want to spend to much time on more education, but my experience finishing my BS was so... "pleasant" isn't the word, but that's all I've got... that I knew I could knock out my masters if I dedicated the time and cut off anything which did not contribute to it's completion.
If we were friends (or even family) during this time period, you'll remember how strict I was about this. I didn't even drink, went completely sober while wrapping up both degrees.
Y'all... there was a whole damn virtual group project, too, and we still got it done.

Grant Morrison's Dark Phoenix
I never realized how many changes Dr. Jean Grey went through, but Dark Phoenix is my favorite based on how little she cares about anything. π
It's almost like her actions are motivated by her Freudian Id.
Obviously, it's problematic, because there is no reasoning with her, but I'm sure once she learns to manage her powers, she'll be amazing.
For any of you who have read to a point where Dr. Grey gets grip on Dark Phoenix, let me know.
Swipe for the inspiration image from Marvel's site.

I'm excited and nervous about finishing this project.
Ridiculous, right? These jeans cost less than $2, but yet I spent yesterday and some of today procrastinating from fear of messing up.
How ridiculous is it that we freeze when we are afraid of rejection, imperfection, and trying something new? The only way that we learn to do with this is by continuing to push through despite knowing exactly what the outcome will be.
I'm thankful that fear doesn't always (because sometimes it does) stop me from trying.
This shorts aren't finished yet. I still have to distress and wash them again. But I ordered some extra razzle dazzle from Amazon that should arrive tomorrow so I can finish these shorts. ππΏ
Can't wait to show you all the complete and finished brunch look next weekend. π

That moment when you see John Walker act a whole ass... and now it's up to you to get the shield back.
Enter Garnet stepping out of Steven's Universe and into the MCU.
I mean, we all know the Dora Milaje are dope af and beyond capable, but he would be expecting them. Garnet would be unexpected.
And if she has to be the new Captian America, then so be it. π€·πΏββοΈ
