Okay, but can I be real about this for a sec??

My average weekend plans look a lot different than they did 5 years ago. Hell, even one year ago. I’ve been slowing down, listening to my body, and taking care of my health… which isn’t always compatible with building a business if we’re being honest. It’s been a big adjustment and I’ve had to reframe what I can {or want to} actually spend my time and energy on.

It’s been a lot of the “behind the scenes” kind of stuff happening over here. All while still having this incredible passion for makeup and art and expression that I always have. I’m learning the balance. It’s been a weird freaking time and I’m fully making it all up as I go.

But I can’t be here to do all the sparkly whimsical makeup on y’all if I don’t take care of myself first.

💟 I will be pausing my books {temporarily!} from 7/20 - 8/20

Gonna be really real for a sec: I’m preparing for a medical procedure at the end of July and just taking some time to actually rest and refocus. I don’t share too much about it on the feed, but I’ve been advocating for myself at doctor’s offices for years and have come back with a diagnosis or two. Depression, Anxiety, IBS, TMJ, and few suspected that we’re still working on. Hopefully this surgery will get me one step closer to answers.

I have so much hope & anxiety & a million other feelings wrapped up in the situation, so I just want to be transparent. I didn’t realize how much I needed to find my other chronically ill baddies until I joined the club, honestly. I had a lot of feelings with names I didn’t know, and the community online gave that to me. Seeing so many brave folks talking so openly about their health journey has helped me to stop ignoring it. So, I’m gonna share it instead. Why the hell not, right?

Listen, I’m taking as much wisdom as the first year of my thirties is trying to give me. At the end of the day, I’m still doing this, I just need a little break. And then we’ll be back to putting rhinestones on everything and runway reviews.
