Dear Clients,

I’m here to share some important news with you: I am retiring from men's cuts. After nearly 20 years of cutting hair in Nashville, I am reinventing the way I work. It's rare for hairdressers to last this long in the industry, given the challenges we face, including creative fatigue, difficult salon environments, physical strain, financial uncertainties, and often unrealistic expectations.

The hair world I was raised in taught me to work late, skip meals, double-book appointments, and sacrifice my own needs for others. However, I now seek a different relationship with work. I am insisting on making time and energy to take care of myself, focus on my health, create art, and enjoy my life. I have hustled my whole life, and I’m craving a different pace.

Even before the pandemic, maintaining my schedule had become increasingly challenging. After 22 years in this profession and a stroke a few years ago, I realized that I need to slow down. I want to focus on one thing at a time and do it well, so my intention is to grow my color clientele. I plan to work shorter days, seeing fewer clients with longer appointments.

Please understand, gentlemen, that this decision comes from a place of gratitude and not from a lack of love or loyalty. I have genuinely enjoyed my time with you, and I assure you that I am not leaving you without support. I want the best for you, even if I am not the one cutting your hair.

As for me, I’m currently catching up on appointments from COVID through September. However, starting in September, I’ll be living just 10 minutes away, which is closer to Clint and work. I am excited about these changes and the flexibility I am allowing myself in my schedule.
