Welp… it happened. Episode 10 of Hairtalk Coffee Club is LIVE ☕️
This one was way too fun to film. We asked for anonymous questions and you all said “skip the tea, let’s pour the coffee.” And you delivered.
We got into everything: how salon owners handle (or mishandle) stylists leaving, the real impact of social media on client expectations, grooming vs luxury services, and a lot more. Nothing was off limits, and we definitely didn’t hold back.
If you’ve ever had thoughts about the industry… this one’s for you.
Head to the link in our bio, then like, subscribe, and share it with your people. We’ve got some big things brewing for the rest of the year.
Enjoy the “tea” ☕️

Your niche isn’t limiting you . It’s positioning you.
We asked wavy/curly haircut expert and educator’ .hairart , what made her want to specialize in that area and her answer did not disappoint.
Stylists, don’t be afraid to lean into your expertise. If you have a passion for a specific texture, length, shape, or color… why not hone in on that? You can absolutely offer different services while still being known as THE expert in a specific area.
Clients want to be educated. They want clarity. And most importantly, they want to trust that you’re the expert for THEIR hair.
If you haven’t already, give .hairart a follow. She’s an AMAZING stylist and educator, and if she’s teaching in your area, you don’t want to miss her class.
THIS Wednesday. 8 AM. ☕️ Don’t just do hair—build clients for life.
Hairtalk Coffee Club is meeting up, and this is one you don’t want to miss. Want to create loyalty before you even pick up a comb? It starts with a confident consultation.
This week we’re diving into ALL things consultation—how to truly understand what your client wants, needs, and didn’t even know how to ask for. You can master every technique in the world, but without this skill, retention is impossible.
Master the consultation, and the anxiety goes away. The guesswork goes away. The “hope they like it” goes away.
Join us—it’s free. Our passion is building community through real conversations that grow your career.
We can’t wait to see you there.
Still waiting for the “right moment”? Here’s the truth: waiting isn’t a strategy.
Nothing cool has ever come from sitting around and hoping it just works out. The people doing the things you admire didn’t wait to be picked. They showed up, asked to learn, and made it clear what they wanted. Opportunities don’t fall in your lap. You have to step toward them.
Our latest guest, Mikey, is proof of that mindset. His journey from cosmetology school to global educator is filled with moments of, “I’m just gonna go for it.”
If you’ve been needing a push, this is it. Tune in, learn with us, laugh with us, and then go make your move. Check out our podcast Hairtalk Coffee Club in the link in our bio! 💪☕️
Nashville stylists: your consultation should do more than start the service—it should secure the next appointment before you even pick up a comb.
Want to create a consultation that retains a client for life before you even begin doing their hair? This meetup is for you.
Join us on Wednesday, March 4 @ 8 AM at Bongo East! We’ll be covering all things consultation.
We can have our technical skills perfected, but all of that doesn’t matter if we don’t lead with a consultation that uncovers not just their immediate needs, but their long-term hair goals. Before we even begin the service, the consultation often determines whether they rebook—and whether they become your client for years to come.
Join us, bring a friend, and connect with like-minded beauty professionals who want to grow. This is a FREE meetup, focused on real conversations and real career-building skills.
See you there!
Great hair shouldn’t require a complicated routine.
We caught up with low-maintenance haircut expert and educator, .hairart , at one of her recent classes in Nashville—and you guys, it was truly one of the best classes I’ve ever seen taught (and I’ve seen A LOT).
If you’re craving next-level cutting education and want to better support your wavy and curly guests, she is absolutely someone to learn from.
We asked her a simple question we love posing to educators:
“What made you want to start teaching?”
Every educator answers differently—and her response was rooted in something we can all get behind: community, inclusivity, and helping stylists feel more confident behind the chair.
That passion shows in every detail of her work. We can’t wait to watch her continue to grow—and help other stylists grow right alongside her. ☕️
Thank you for filming this!
You have to learn the rules… so you can break them.
We stand by this.
Because how can you repeat great work if you don’t have a system? If you don’t have fundamentals?
Forget the trendy, one-off techniques. Give us education that strengthens the foundation of hairdressing. Client retention isn’t built on flashes of creativity—it’s built on consistency. Consistent experience. Consistently great results. Every single time.
We caught up with to talk about how he’s doubling down on this belief through his new brand, , and why getting “back to basics” might be exactly what our industry needs. We can’t wait to see the education he brings to life through this platform.
