Last year my friends and from .tx donated $360 to the Trevor Project

They’re doing it again this year with another pride raffle 🌈

So the way it works is that if you get tattooed by Kelly or Matthew Mahan Tattoo you get entered into the raffle and $10 of your tattoo price gets donated to a nonprofit. If you’re looking to just make a donation you can do that as well. For every $10 you donate that is another entry into the raffle. This will be for the entire month of June. At the first of July we will do the drawing for the winner!

You may be asking at this point what you win. Well we have had several people donated items.

•First you have Kelly and myself who are giving palm sized tattoos. One from each of us.

•A gift certificate from

•Desiree from donating hair products (pictured)

• is donating a facial and some skincare products (also if you mention this raffle to her she’ll donate a percentage of your service cost to the charity as well)

•Aubrey Trevino will be offering a percentage off of a piercing for the winner

• .setx will be giving a bracelet or anklet in your choice of enamel or silver

If you would like to donate an item or service feel free to reach out as well 😁 hope everyone has a great day!

An easy to care for, Peperomia rosso.

I especially love how it is a different color underneath. 🖍️

There is one of these available at the salon and at in the Plant Room.

Sliver Threads 🩶

Jumping ahead of the game and embracing the grey before it fills in. I added more grey/silver highlights throughout to blend into her natural small streak of grey.
Sliver highlights on virgin hair, must have been my lucky day!

Free lemon balm in the front yard raised beds

Lemon balm is one of the first herbs I started growing in my medicinal garden. The smell of it is so invigorating to me! I could sniff it all day. To me, it's like sunshine in plant form. 🌞🌱

Lemon balm seems to calm the mind, increase mental alertness and promote a positive attitude. I personally like to pair it with holy basil for stress and anxiety. It could possibly help with PMS, ADHD, mild depression and insomnia.

Lemon balm has been studied in Alzheimer’s research, mostly for its calming effects on agitation and stress-related symptoms. While it is not a treatment or cure for cognitive decline, it could possibly help slow progression, and gently support mood and nervous system balance. Being an Alzheimer's nurse, I love this.

Lemon balm has antiviral effects and is often used as a remedy to help with herpes, cold sores and shingles. It can also help sooth and ease the nerve pain that accompanies these viruses. One of my books suggests its use for Esptein-Barr. It is antibacterial and antifungal. It is particularly effective against candida.

Lemon balm aids in digestion. It can help relieve, gas, cramping, bloating, heartburn, constipation and colic.

Lemon can help support a healthy heart. It can help control cholesterol, palpitations, tachycardia, arrhythmias, and it contains antioxidants that may help protect blood vessels from oxidative stress.

Some laboratory research suggests that lemon balm may interfere with TSH from binding to thyroid cells. So regular use could possibly be beneficial for those with a HYPERactive thyroid. Those with HYPOactive thyroid and those taking thyroid medication should not regularly use lemon balm.

Laboratory research shows lemon balm has anti-proliferative effects on liver, breast, colorectal, and brain cancer cell lines. (These are not human studies)

This is such a versatile plant! Lemon balm leaves can be used to make tea, tinctures, essential oil, and salves. As always, do your own research and talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking medications.

If I’ve ever done your hair and you loved it, or if you bought a plant from me that happens to be your favorite, leave me a review here or on Google.

Started with recently lightened hair by another stylist that needed more toning to correct the color. I added a shadow root and a lowlight for dimension, and voila a beautiful shade of blonde.
