So many brides think wedding makeup is all about the skill of the artist. But what they don't realize is how important it is to properly prep their skin beforehand.

As a makeup artist, it's hard to explain to a bride on their wedding day that the reason their makeup doesn't look as flawless as their inspo pic, is because they didn't take the proper precautions beforehand.

It may not seem like a lot, but these small changes can make all the difference!

Looking effortless doesn't always mean we aren't putting on any makeup. It's about being strategic and using the right products+ light layers to create the perfect natural finish. Here's a breakdown for the perfect "no makeup- makeup" look:

Face: Using creams, contouring under foundation will give a more naturally defined look. Use a light to medium coverage foundation and add in a liquid hilighter into the foundation before applying to give a soft, dewy finish

Eyes: Using soft mattes and sticking to an undertone that matches the skin, lightly contour the eyes and follow the natural shape of the eye. Use a brown pencil liner and smudge out a soft wing to lift the eyes and accentuate the cat eye effect that the lashes give.

Brows: Less is more. Start with a clear brow pomade to shape them up, then using a tinted brow gel to lightly groom them back down to add color without them looking filled in. If there are sparse areas, only fill in what needs it and blend softly.

Lips: Find a brown liner that matches the natural undertone to define the shape and add a soft pink gloss on top to blend and soften the lip color to appear polished and effortless!
