Halloween is my absolute favorite holiday of the year and even the rats aren't safe from my costume crafting. This year Pip and Squeak were witches and (very chubby) butterflies. I also included some pictures of Willow 🦛🪽 and Pearl 🐀🪽 as the cutest little cowgirls from a few years ago. 💕

Is there anything better than a fresh gloss? I don't think so.

Today marks my 29th trip around the sun. Thats 10592 days on this floating rock. Most of which have been different than expected.

As a little girl I wanted to be a vet when I grew up. Then it changed to an archeologist, then an anthropologist (when I learned that word), then some variation of an artist, and at some point along the way all I wanted from my life was to get from one day to the next. But thanks to my family and friends (and SSRIs) life continued even when it felt like it couldn't. Somehow I graduated high school and got into a cosmetology program in Madison. I found a sketchy apartment on craigslist. I made incredible friends that helped me get out of my shell. I met my partner. I started a career I love and I suddenly came to life. I found a place for me that I didn't think could exist. I may not have become an archeologist or an anthropologist but I have become an auntie, a traveler, a rat mom, a friend, a partner and a stylist. I'm so thankful for this life and all of the people who make it so wonderful.

Long story short, it is okay to take things one day at a time. There is a place for all of us here. And if you can't find one, you can make one.
