Dearest dance lovers… Dance Because began almost ten years ago as a way to turn you on to the joy of dance and to celebrate our dance community. Without pretense, but with passion. Down home, but also super pro. Renegade, real, and a little edgy. Inviting you to participate, as in - get up and dance with us! We’re still a scrappy organization making dance things happen in this town, but we’ve grown and have big dreams. We invite you to come out next Saturday July 18 for this little cabaret event we’ve put together at our original home - Nevada City Oddfellows Hall. The evening includes:  👯‍♀️Show - short dances, live music, and comedy 🪎Auction – bid on a private pilates session, facial, or piece of fine art 🎟️Raffle prizes – win a ticket to the Celtic Festival, a free dance class, a bottle of wine! 🥂Drinks & Snacks – your ticket includes a glass of chilled prosecco! 🕺🏿Voguing – strut across the floor with us 🪩Dance party – stay and boogie with @djfossil for a good cause And what is the cause? Dance Because will present our annual showcase of dance at Nevada Theatre in January 2027. Funds raised help support our choreographers and designers, and pay for production expenses like rehearsal space and costumes. It takes months to prepare new work for this show!
