Shelby Dalton Trytsman Journey

I've debated about posting., however we are 1 year out from diagnosis of MS and I'm very grateful we are on top of this hill instead of at the beginning! I'm Thankful we got to spend Adi's Birthday with Shelby and Thanksgiving!! This has been a year of new things and new ways of life, however it's okay we still have Shelby and of course our newest Angel Hesston! I hope you all have as much thankfulness in your hearts as we do this year having our kids all with us this time!
Yes, Shelby still has vision issues and has a brace to wear to walk. This is great strides for Shelby as she was told she'd be wheelchair bound and she's not, although there are days of weakness, the days of strength are not neglected.
I'm thankful for Shelby and ALL she's been through, she's one tough chic!!!! I'm grateful she's here with us and these precious babies oh yeah and she's a great wife to this guy. Love you all so much! Remember to Pray always and never take anything for granted!

New exciting update.... Friday Shelby and Hesston had an appointment at the Ability clinic. Shelby finally got her an AFO Ottobock brace for her left foot. She has to get used to this as she's been overcompensating while walking for so many months now. However in just a few short days we can tell it is a huge improvement, she can almost keep up with the rest of us now. So excited to see what a month will do... Maybe she'll be running before we know it 😉😉
Hesston got his Bling on his helmet and took another good growth spurt in circumference. He's such a bright light in this world! He's absolutely perfect! As you can see his great Grandma approves 😉

Hi all! SUPER vulnerable post ahead.It occurred to me that I haven’t made an official update on what’s been happening in my life since the middle of November 2022. Please bear with me as I’m certainly bound to mess up with spelling and or grammar. Also I’ll probably be all over the place and might not make sense 100% of the time. (We’ll just say it’s the drain bramage) (it’s a joke but it’s also pretty serious.)
Mid November I started getting a super terrible headache and nothing was kicking it.started getting a void in my left eye(we assumed it was froze rhe migraine I had. Stopped driving as I didn’t think it was safe to do so. Went to Dr several times and couldn’t figure anything out just started playing a waiting game. Had Adi Rays second birthday party on the 19th.the 22nd is Adi’s actual2nd birthday and I wake up barely able to get out of bed. Went to pick up Adi girl out of her crib and then my left leg buckles and I fall right by adis crib. I try to stand and I don’t have the strength to use my left arm to push myself back up. I tell Adi I need here to get Ot of her crib and I tell her how to crawl over the bed rails and onto the nugget couch then to her chair anti the ottoman and get my phone to call my dad. She does everything and sits on the floor crying with me while we waited for him to come help me up. Jt ends up taking me to NRMC ER where I was then air f lighted to Freeman in Joplin. Was told I might have had a stroke but they needed to send me by ambulance to eitherCox in Springfield or KU. My husband and I chose Cox because it was closer to home. Had several MRIs. HD a spinal tap. About a week later and I not only skipped thanksgiving but also missed my chance at making deviled eggs for the first time.(In hindsight I’m sure I could’ve just admitted that I knew my body was so scared to mess up the eggs.Two days after thanksgiving I bust outed of the hospital. Go home for three days with a walker. Had my moms delicious. Deviled eggs.End up going Back to cox ER. Shortly after that I started having some problems with memory and cognitive functioning. I might was impaired by my inability to walk and function of my left arm/hand.Apparently it was decided that I go to KU where I received several more tests and MRI’s as well as plasma Pharisees few times I then started to lose vision in both eyes. I however only remember tidbits from that point until about January 13th and even most of those memories are still coming back and they confuse me. Not like this whole thing hasn’t confused me lol.
Some time in the two months I was moved between hospitals and rehabs I was diagnosed with tumefactive multiple sclerosis(MS)and wasn’t expected to walk again. I was released from the Rehabilitation Program on January 13th with a wheelchair and an AFO.I saw a neurologist that specializes in MS in April and she diagnosed me with Remitting and Relapsing MS and talked about getting on a plan to start treatment. Sine MS has no current cure as an Autoimmune Disorder/disease there are only DMT’s(Diseaue Modifing Therapies) for treating it, and my husband and I decided to do a Monthly self injection to save the numerous trips to KU.
We are a few months into the treatment and We have already had amazing results. My eyesight (while still not outstanding by any means it has been improving slowly but surely. I gave birth to my last baby on April 4th. We’re are both happy and healthy. I decided that at this point in time I’m ok with not having my drivers license and I’ve decided to surrender it over to the state for medical purposes but it’s not like I drove much anyway 😂😅

All I gotta say is Let Go and Let God.
Hessi boy got a new helmet and I get a new brace that will hopefully help me walk better and maybe run with a foot drop!
Life has been trying for sure but we’re making it!

Long time with no update. Been a long week and appointments and happenings are still coming for our family.

Monday Shelby had an appointment with the Opthalmologist surgeon in Springfield. Long story short, Shelby has slim to no depth perception, slim to no peripheral and no eye glass prescription can help with any of her vision issues. At this time the vision she has is a miracle from above and the only way of getting any better is for our Lord and Savior to grant her vision again.

I really debated on posting this because I know this is not the news we wanted, however I came home and thought a lot about many different aspects and how far Shelby has come just since January. I know it's easy to get in your head and be judgemental, think about all the negativity possible and become very depressed. Instead I said no, not today, not ever will Satan take any glory for the small and large steps of improvement! I stopped and prayed for the blessings and remember we don't always get what we want on our time. God has his own watch and you never know what time he says it is!!

Hesston has a scan and new measurements taken this Friday to go from braces to retainer on the 28th. He's growing in leaps and bounds and brings so much joy to this world!

It's been a hot minute since we've posted anything so here's an update and your smile for the day. These two Angels are at home with Mom and Dad stealing every heart that comes past them. They make the ups and downs of life more bearable. They are our focus and reasons for pushing and moving forward.
Everyone is adjusting and doing amazing. Thanks be to the grace of our Lord and Savior above.
Hesston has had his surgery and is responding quite well. We will look at his growth and such at 4 months of wearing this and then we will see if we have 2 more months after, we have another appointment Friday.
Shelby has just started this month with her monthly medication. We will be monitoring her for improvement, mainly in her eyes. Otherwise everyone is healthy and happily learning life's new routine.

Our little Hesston made it through surgery and everything went good. He was not a happy camper coming out of anesthesia. He is finally calmed down and resting well. Please continue Praying for his recovery over the next 4-6 months.

Tomorrow morning EARLY (Checking in at 630am) is our baby Hesston surgery at Children's Mercy KC. Prayers are welcome

Was a BIG day for our Baby Hesston! He will be having a surgery very soon (before 3 months of age) to correct his frontal suture. This will be the less evasive surgery and will get the same if not better results than the very evasive surgery. He will have to wear a brace to help restructure of his head shape. Many prayers and remember to take nothing for granted!

May 7.... I have debated on this update due to how to put Dr language into English 🤷😉so you may have to Google Tumafactive MS to clearly understand. On May 4 Shelby had her updated MRI she does infact have MS. However no new lesions were shown (+). Usually patients with this kind of MS show the most progress after diagnosis in 3-6 months others in the first 1-2 years. Shelby's is stable, in remission, and currently inactive Dr says it is dormant right now (+). Shelby will be doing some blood work here in week or so ...she will be taking Vitamin D and a once a month shot of medication. The medicine will kill off certain aged B cells and as her B cells replenish they will only grow to this certain age and die. MRI does show Shelby does have significant damage to the lobe in the brain that is affected by MS.
To put blood labs in numbers...
Normal numbers on two of the counts 1 should be -9.2 Shelby is at -34.3 the second one normal is between 2 &5 Shelby is at 22 so her blood panel count is significantly off!
As for her eyesight the neurologist said it is what it is unless an optometrist can do something. So a new eye exam is in the works.
So continuing to Pray and take nothing for granted!!!!
We will possibly have an update on our Hesston this coming Thursday or Friday as he visits the Drs at Children's Mercy this week.

Tomorrow May 4 is a BIG day for Shelby. She will have her MRI and see the neurologist post giving birth to our Angel Hesston. Prayers for treatment or whatever doctor suggests moving forward and some positive news! Pray without ceasing and remember to take nothing for granted!!!
