As I leave the hospital on New Year's Eve from delivering our last Life Cycle baby for 2024, I can't help but feel overjoyed to have been able to bring Life into the world on my mom's birthday!

Happy 60th Birthday to the mom that has believed in and nurtured every dream, calling, and person that I love. The woman that taught me kindness, grace, mercy, and patience. To the woman affectionately known to our Littles as Gram Gram. We hope you have an amazing day filled with joy and laughter and love.

Today, I am proud to share that I have officially graduated from the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses program! This journey has been nothing short of transformative for both me and Life Cycle Direct Primary Care.

What makes this milestone even more special is that I embarked on this challenge while pregnant—and welcomed my baby during the program. Baby Mooreland attended classes with me, becoming the youngest unofficial member of our cohort (see his graduation certificate in the picture)!

I couldn't have done this without the incredible support of the 10KSB faculty, staff, and my peers, who cheered me on every step of the way. To my family, friends, and Life Cycle team—you made this possible, and I am endlessly grateful for your encouragement and belief in my vision.

This experience has not only strengthened my business acumen but also deepened my commitment to transforming healthcare and advancing health equity for minority and marginalized communities.

PSA: Having children is amazing, but becoming parents with your partner is one of the greatest stressors your relationship will ever endure. The stress can break you easily if you don't properly prepare. Stop preparing more for everything else in life than you do for expanding your family. It's just as important if not more than your household finances. Take the time to do counseling, to pinpoint and unlearn generational trauma and incorrect beliefs. Take the time to learn to be considerate of your partner and to fully grasp the totality of what it means to get pregnant, be pregnant, deliver a child, care for a newborn, AND care for a postpartum woman. Proper planning and practice prevents poor performance.
