The Salon on Middle

Tuesday was my last day behind the chair.
Many of you didn’t know it at the time because, honestly, only a less than handful of my clients knew what was happening.
14 weeks ago, I broke my wrist. While everyone else was hoping I’d heal and get back behind the chair, I was quietly coming to terms with a reality I didn’t want to accept. Deep down, I knew this injury had ended my career as a hairstylist. I think part of me stayed quiet because saying it out loud would make it real.
The hardest part wasn’t selling the salon. In fact, I’m incredibly grateful that The Salon on Middle will continue serving our community for years to come.
The hardest part was saying goodbye.
Some of you have trusted me with your hair, your stories, your celebrations, and your lives for over 11 years. We’ve watched each other’s families grow, celebrated weddings and babies, cried through losses, laughed until we couldn’t breathe, and somehow a color or a haircut was always just part of the visit.
If I didn’t get the chance to personally say goodbye, I’m truly sorry. There were already more tears than I ever expected, and I simply didn’t have it in me to do it over and over again.
Thank you for trusting me for the last 11 years. Thank you for supporting my dream, believing in me, and allowing me to be part of your lives. I’ll carry those memories with me forever.
While this chapter has come to an unexpected end, I’m excited for the future of The Salon on Middle. There is no one I’d rather hand the keys to than Kendyl. Watching her grow from a stylist into the incredible leader she is today has been one of the greatest privileges of my career. I couldn’t be more proud to officially introduce her as the new owner of The Salon on Middle.
I know she’s going to do amazing things, and I can’t wait to watch this next chapter unfold.
