Myofascial Release gives me a way to work with the physical body, its restrictions, patterns of tension, movement, and the places that ask for sustained attention.
Alongside that work, I incorporate practices influenced by ancestral traditions: prayer, sound, smoke, feathers, crystals, intention, and an awareness of the energetic field surrounding the body.
These practices have ancient roots across many cultures, where healing has included relationship with the physical, emotional, energetic, and spiritual aspects of being human.
I approach this part of my work with reverence.
Prayer and intuition are woven quietly throughout the session.
Different natural elements are used as tools for energetic clearing and movement.
Palo santo may be used to prepare the space.
Tuning forks allow me to work intentionally with sound and the Biofield.
I study fascia, anatomy, mechanobiology, and the nervous system while also honoring the parts of healing that have been understood through spiritual traditions for thousands of years.
My practice continues to evolve toward the place where those worlds meet.
If you are seeking an approach to MFR that honors both the physical body while integrating the spiritual and energetic dimensions of healing, I welcome you to experience Nostos Myofascial Release.

A practitioner is only as effective as their ability to listen.
Sometimes I listen with my hands.
Sometimes I listen through frequency.
Some tools are supported by modern research, while others have been carried forward through generations of cultural tradition. I have always felt the need to integrate the two.
The tuning forks, Myofascial Release, botanicals, feathers, crystals, and smoke each have a purpose. Together they create an experience that honors both measurable physiology and the human need for meaning, stillness, and intention.
Every session begins by listening.
Everything that follows is guided by what I find.
The tools may differ from practitioner to practitioner, but the intention remains the same: to create the conditions where the body can settle, communicate clearly, and respond according to its own innate intelligence.
Your body has been communicating with you all along.
If you are ready to listen in a different way, I invite you to experience a session at Nostos Myofascial Release.

For centuries, palo santo has been part of sacred traditions.
Indigenous communities in parts of Ecuador and Peru have long used naturally fallen palo santo (Bursera graveolens) during prayer, ceremony, and healing practices.
The fragrant smoke has traditionally symbolized purification, creating space for reflection, intention, and spiritual connection.
Modern research has found that palo santo contains naturally occurring aromatic compounds with anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, antimicrobial, and calming properties. Its aroma also engages the olfactory system, which communicates directly with brain regions involved in memory, emotion, and autonomic regulation.
This helps explain why scent can influence how we feel within moments.
Across generations and cultures, people have turned to palo santo as an invitation to pause, breathe deeply, and reconnect with themselves. Whether your appreciation begins with tradition, science, or both, its enduring presence continues to inspire moments of calm, presence, and intention.
Palo Santo is a sacred element of my spiritual practice.
If this approach resonates with you and you are ready to experience a deeply intentional approach to healing, I am honored to welcome you to Nostos Myofascial Release.

At Nostos Myofascial Release, we believe that true healing is an active collaboration.
What you do between sessions is not just supportive, it is essential. Daily self-treatment helps reinforce the gains made during our time together by extending the neuromyofascial reorganization initiated on the table. Even five minutes a day can create measurable change in the way your tissue holds, hydrates, and communicates. Ideally, you want to work up to 60 minutes a day with a minimum of 5–7 minute increments.
By integrating self-treatment, you help:
•Reduce inflammation and pain
•Increase interstitial fluid flow
•Maintain postural realignment
•Rewire compensatory holding patterns
•Engage the body’s innate healing intelligence
Self-treatment technique:
Myofascial Stretching
•Elongate slowly, just to the barrier (not your full range).
Move in the direction of resistance and hold for at least 5 minutes
•Breathe and allow small, intuitive movements to emerge (Unwinding)
•Stay below the pain threshold to invite deep release
This allows fibroblasts to reorient and reorganize the matrix over time.
The body remembers. Every moment of care you offer between sessions helps your fascia integrate, unwind, and restore itself. Self-treatment is not a replacement for hands-on care, it is a bridge that deepens and prolongs the transformation already in motion.
When you partner with your body through daily awareness, you are choosing a path of sustainable, intelligent healing.

Sound is essential in every session I provide.
Biofield Tuning allows me to begin by working with the biofield through frequency before transitioning into Myofascial Release.
It brings balance to the field, quiets interference, and gives the body an opportunity to settle before hands-on work begins.
Every session unfolds differently because every body presents differently.
My role is to listen, observe, and follow what your body is ready to reveal rather than asking it to fit a protocol.
If you are living with chronic pain, fascial restrictions, TMJ dysfunction, migraines, post-surgical scar tissue, nervous system dysregulation, or the effects of physical or emotional stress, I invite you to experience this work at Nostos, I can help you.

What to Expect During a Myofascial Release Session at Nostos
When you arrive, you will be greeted on the patio.
We begin with an assessment either seated, standing, or lying down, and sometimes in any position in space your body wants to move.
I assess your posture and the way your body holds itself in gravity. This is about noticing what your fascia is already communicating through alignment, breath, and subtle holding patterns.
There is no rush to move around the body before the body is ready to soften.
The body softens in its own timing, when it feels safe and held.
Pain is not always where the problem lives. Because fascia is a full-body network, I follow the lines of tension and restriction, which may lead us far from where you feel symptoms.
This is a whole-system approach that honors both your physical and energetic body.
This work is gentle.
It is deep.
It is never about forcing a result.
It is about returning to flow of ease.
It is about restoring alignment.
Clients seek this care for:
•TMJ, migraines, jaw tension
•Neck, shoulder, hip, or low back pain
•Sciatica or nerve discomfort
•Post-surgical scar tissue
•Fatigue, overwhelm, or feeling “stuck” in the body
Your healing path begins the moment you say yes.
I can help you.
Sessions are private, 90 minutes, and intentionally limited to 12 clients per week.

Your body is communicating.
Every restriction.
Every tension pattern.
Every sensation.
The body is continually providing feedback about what it has experienced and what it may still be carrying.
Myofascial Release creates space for that communication to be heard.
At Nostos Myofascial Release, I use the John F. Barnes Approach® to address the whole fascial system, supporting both structural change and nervous system regulation.
The goal is not to chase symptoms.
The goal is to create the conditions where your body can move with greater freedom, adaptability, and ease.
Your body has a story.
Listening is where healing begins.
I can help you.

Hi, I am Ryan Lathe, founder of Nostos Myofascial Release, Licensed Massage Therapist, and Advanced MFR Practitioner.
I have been a Licensed Massage Therapist since 2012 and have dedicated my career to helping people navigate chronic pain, tension, prenatal and pediatric care, injury recovery, nervous system stress, and fascial restrictions.
My approach is rooted in John F. Barnes’ Myofascial Release Approach®, a form of hands-on therapy that uses sustained gentle pressure to address restrictions within the fascial system.
Every session is intuitively guided by your body’s response, creating space for greater mobility, comfort, balance, and ease.
I work with individuals experiencing TMJ dysfunction, headaches, neck and back pain, sciatica, post-surgical restrictions, prenatal and postpartum changes, athletic injuries, and long held patterns that have been resistant to other approaches.
In 2017, I founded a private massage practice here in New Braunfels, Texas that evolved in 2024 to Nostos Myofascial Release, offering MFR exclusively.
Inspired by the ancient Greek concept of the journey home after a long voyage, a homecoming that honors survival, resilience, and the lessons gathered along the way, my intention is to provide a space where your body can soften its guard, reconnect with its inherent capacity for healing, and move toward greater freedom.
If you are ready to explore what Myofascial Release can offer, I invite you to schedule a session and begin your care journey.
