I'm 32 years old and have fallen for a 55 years old man. He was married and has 4 children with his wife. The first child is 24 and the last is 11. He has been separated with his wife for 3 years and for just reasons some of which I know personally, not him telling me but I experienced it because I used to go there for holidays when I was much younger. He's a family so I know the family very well and I'm close to the family. Around mid last year he started being overly friendly with me, I thought it was just daughter and father love since he's like a father to me. He started calling and texting more often but there was no dirty chats and calls. Just checking up on me more often and showed interest in my plans and goals. We don't live in the same town so he invited me over to the town where he lives. When I got there, he told me that he wants us to start something but we should keep it private for now since he hasn't gotten divorced with his wife (they've been separated for 3 years). I asked how long the divorce process will take but he said he doesn't really know. We've gotten intimate and I recently noticed I've already invested my emotions in it, not because of the intimacy...I developed affection for him even before we got intimate. He's caring and kind towards me and overall he's a good person. I see how he treats even those who aren't related to him.
Recently I started feeling hurt and I decided to have a pause and think deeply about what I've gotten myself into. He hasn't treated me badly and hasn't given me any reasons to doubt him. I feel sad/hurt because there's no time frame for the divorce and another is that I can't remember him categorically stating what exactly he wants from me, if he wants me as just a mistress or have plans of getting married after the divorce or....etc. At this point I'm confused and don't even know what to do. Please I need your counsel.
