To be honest, I never dreamed that when I started doing nails in high school it would turn into my career. It was just a hobby for me, that blew up into something more than I could’ve ever imagined. Some of the things that have gotten me here:
- ALWAYS be flexible with people. My clients love that I am flexible with them. In return, they are understanding if I need to move their appt as well.
- I have always been very good at communicating with my clients. If they show me a pic and I’m not sure I can do it, I simply tell them that. Most of the time we will try it anyway & if it doesn’t look good, we do something else.
- If i learn something new, I teach them what I have learned. My clients love feeling included on the new products I’ve discovered or new techniques. Especially right now, I am in a mentorship with & they ALWAYS ask me how it’s going & what I’ve learned.
- NEW CLIENTS. Explain to them the process you’re doing. When I have a new client, I always sit down and explain to them builder gel. They feel more confident in you & your work.
- I make it my JOB to try & remember what we talked about at their past appointment so I can follow up next time i see them. Clients want that relationship with their nail tech!
- I have never charged extra if you come in for a fill and have broken nails because I’m already prepping your nails and reapplying. It takes me 2 extra seconds. No big deal.
- I think it’s silly to charge extra for more than one color or cat eye. Maybe the not charging extra for cat eye is because I CANT for the life of me get it to be perfect. I’ve tried EVERYTHING so any tutorials on cat eye plz send my way.
- I couldn’t care less about how you look. Honestly, I probably look rough too. I live my life running late. 9/10x you’ll NEVER see me wearing makeup or my hair done.
- I will NEVER be mad if you bring your little gremlins, I get it (not really lol). We will work it out & find something for them to play with, even if it’s my tools lol. Bring your friends too, I love meeting new people.
