I’m working this weekend.
Yep. Saturday AND Sunday.
Youngsville AND New Iberia.
“But Katie… why would you do that to yourself?”
Because apparently horses don’t accept good intentions as payment.
Listen… I only have 5 horses, and that’s honestly not enough. I need one in every color like they’re Pokémon. You can’t expect me to just… stop collecting.
Then there’s Lucy and Ethel. Those freeloading ducks have developed champagne taste on a puddle budget. They act like they deserve a professionally landscaped pond with waterfalls, mood lighting, and a tiny HOA.
So if you’ve been saying,
“I really need a massage…”
This is your sign.
Text 337-789-7078 and let’s get you on the schedule this weekend.
You leave feeling better.
I leave one step closer to financing my emotionally expensive farm animals.

Spa La Vie Renovation Update:
Remember when the plan was to just replace the floors?
Yeah… we don’t either.
Current status:
* ✅ Floors are happening.
* ✅ Walls have changed colors.
* ✅ Furniture has been relocated approximately 47 times.
* ✅ Baseboards are coming.
* ✅ Clients are still getting amazing massages.
* ❌ We have absolutely no idea what’s going on anymore.
At this point, every morning starts with someone asking,
“Where’d we put the tape measure?”
and ends with,
“Well… while we’re at it…”
We’re sore.
We’re tired.
Our muscles hurt… which, as massage therapists, feels a little ironic.
Our lives are currently split into two categories:
1. Giving relaxing massages.
2. Immediately picking up a drill, paint roller, or pry bar.
I honestly don’t know what room is supposed to look like anymore. I walk in, stare at a wall for five minutes, and somehow convince myself it needs another project.
If you come into Spa La Vie this week and it looks like HGTV met a tornado and then both got lost in Home Depot… just know we’re in the middle of the “trust the process” stage.
Thank y’all for being patient with us while we accidentally renovate everything we touch. We promise the finished spa is going to be beautiful.
Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m off to massage people all day while pretending I can still feel my shoulders… and trying really hard not to start another project before this one is finished.

Six years ago today, I was out there building a tiny house… on a BUDGET. 😂
Looking back at those pictures, I’m reminded of something way more important than the lumber and sheetrock. The number of people who showed up with tools, sweat, advice (whether I asked for it or not 😅), and willing hands was incredible.
I’ve always believed this: you are the community you attract.
We might fuss about politics and all the things wrong with the world, but one thing I will argue until my last breath is this… our community is full of some of the most generous, hardworking, genuinely good people you’ll ever meet. I’m incredibly thankful to be surrounded by y’all.
Fast forward six years, and here I go again. 😅
This time, I’m not building a tiny house. I’m pouring that same energy (and questionable decision-making skills) into giving Spa La Vie a facelift.
No, we’re not expanding. We’re not becoming some fancy luxury spa with waterfalls in the lobby. We’re just making the place a little prettier, a little warmer, and a little more us.
Because every massage you book, every referral you send, every Facebook like, comment, and share… that’s what makes projects like this possible.
I want you to walk through those doors and see exactly where your support goes. Every improvement is because of you, and I’ll never take that for granted.
Now… if I’m being transparent…
We’ve officially reached the stage of every DIY project where I want to kick something, scream into the void, and list the whole building on Facebook Marketplace. 😂
I won’t quit.
…But I’ve definitely considered dramatically walking away at least twelve times this week.
Nothing worth having comes easy. Usually it comes covered in sawdust, paint, sore muscles, and several trips to Lowe’s because apparently I measured with my heart instead of a tape measure.
Thank y’all for supporting this little dream of mine. I truly hope when it’s finished, you love it as much as we’ve loved creating it.
Now if you’ll excuse me… I have more trim to install… and more opportunities to question every life choice that led me here. ❤️
POV: You planned to replace the floors… and then your ADHD said, “While we’re at it…” 😅
So now we’re painting walls, updating furniture, installing new baseboards, and questioning every life decision that got us here.
If you have an appointment this week, just know the massages are still happening… they just come with a complimentary episode of “Extreme DIY: Budget Edition.”
Please excuse the chaos while I accidentally renovate the entire spa. I promise it’ll be worth it in the end! 💜🛠️

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT:
I’d like to apologize to everyone with an appointment at Spa La Vie this week.
It was supposed to be ONE PROJECT.
One.
The floors.
That’s it.
Then I looked around and thought…
“Mmmm…these walls are looking a little too…wall-y.”
So now they’re getting painted.
But then the furniture had the AUDACITY to no longer match.
So now the furniture is getting a makeover.
Then I noticed the baseboards.
Y’all…have y’all ever looked at baseboards? They are RUDE.
Now those are getting replaced too.
At this point I don’t even think I’m remodeling anymore.
I think I’m being possessed by a middle-aged HGTV ghost named Chip and Joanna.
My husband leaves town for work and comes home playing a game called:
“What part of the house survived this trip?”
He doesn’t even ask questions anymore.
He just opens the front door like…
“Well…let’s see what she tore apart THIS time.”
So this week, if you come in and it looks like Lowe’s exploded, Home Depot lost a custody battle, and Dewalt is personally financing my bad decisions…
Just know…
The massages are still relaxing.
The building?
Not so much.
If you hear a drill, don’t panic.
If you see furniture where furniture shouldn’t be, that’s normal.
If I have paint on my face…mind your business.
If you ask me when it’ll be finished…
😂😂😂 That’s adorable.
I don’t know either.
Pray for me.
Pray harder for my husband. He’s the one who has to come home and pretend this was “totally expected.”

If you’ve been wondering why Spa La Vie has been a little quiet this weekend…
We’re not closed.
We’re just making questionable decisions with power tools. 😂
The spa is getting a few upgrades, and I REALLY hope y’all like them because at some point I stopped asking myself, “Should I?” and started asking, “Where’s the drill?”
Massages will be back on Monday!
Now… I do need y’all to have realistic expectations.
This is NOT HGTV.
Nobody is yelling, “Move that bus!” and magically revealing a brand-new spa 43 minutes later.
It’s just us.
We’re older. We make random trips to the hardware store because we forgot something. We stop to stretch our backs. We stand there staring at a wall for 20 minutes trying to remember what we came into the room to do. We drink coffee. We accidentally create three new projects while trying to finish one.
It’s a process. 😂
But we’re excited, and we hope when it’s all finished you’ll walk in and think…
“Dang… they really did that.”
Now if you’ll excuse me, I have approximately 17 more trips to Lowe’s scheduled today.
See y’all Monday! 💜
Sometimes, y’all… life just lifes.
And I can always tell when life has been winning before my clients even get to the spa.
A while back I had the pleasure of massaging one of the busiest women I’ve ever met. And when I say busy… I mean she made me look like I had free time.
We chat for a bit, I leave the room, she gets on the table, massage starts, everything is normal…
Until I flip her over.
Her panties were on… inside out.
Now I’m standing there having an internal debate.
“Katie… mind your business.”
“Katie… that’s not your business.”
“Katie… but what if she goes the whole day like that?”
Unfortunately for everyone involved, my brain and my mouth have never had a healthy working relationship.
So I blurted out, “Girl… your panties are inside out.”
She looked down, started laughing, and said, “That pretty much sums up my life right now.”
Honestly? Same.
And she’s not alone! I’ve also had sweet ladies get dressed after their massage and come out with their shirts inside out. Don’t worry… I stop y’all before you leave looking like life tackled you in the parking lot.
Moral of the story: if you ever come to Spa La Vie and you’re wearing something backwards, inside out, or sideways… I’m probably gonna tell you.
Not because I’m judging.
Because sometimes life is moving at 100 mph, and we all need that one person who’s willing to say, “Hey… your shirt’s backwards.” 😂
