The Henna Geisha
A Henna Geisha is a henna artist who cultivates grace, gentleness, patience, empathy and and comfort I've been applying henna since 1999.
I mix my own paste with Jamila and Rajasthani henna with geranium bourbon, lavender or cajeput essential oils. I've been active in the online Henna community since '99. If you ever want to talk henna or have any questions that I can help you with don't hesitate to drop a line. I'm always up for sharing knowledge!

As always, two of my favorite henna colleagues have expressed henna in words more beautifully than I. The mehndi process is slow but worth it, and meant to be savored. Thank you Paul of Hennawi House Body Art and Jason of Henna Being for such an elegant sentiment.

Thank you to George Takei for bringing this to national attention and helping to differentiate between REAL henna and black "henna"! Henna artists who use unadulterated henna have been trying for years to educate our clients and communities, and having a platform with this much exposure helps the cause.

While dark black henna is dangerous because it's been adulterated with hair dye, it's possible to get *near* black henna with quality ingredients, patience and time. Pure essential oils, fresh henna powder with a high lawsone content and 8 hours of time on thick skin will yield results like this! Yowza!
