Hello everyone,

I don’t even know where to begin, but I feel compelled to share this story for my sister. It has left me asking one question: Where is the humanity in this world?

My sister Nancy is one of the most honest, hardworking people you will ever meet—and sometimes it’s the actions of the bad ones that make you question your faith in humanity. But her story deserves to be heard.

For more than 30 years, Nancy has poured her life, heart, and soul into her business, Star Nails, located on Tchoupitoulas inside the Riverside Shopping Center in New Orleans. To me, she is an icon of this city. She built Star Nails through dedication, discipline, and love—never missing a day of work, never skipping a workout, always showing up for her employees and her family. She is a mother figure to so many. She might seem strong on the outside, but inside she is the sweetest person you’ll ever meet.

On November 30, 2025, Star Nails was forced to close its doors. When we received the news, our hearts sank. Tears fell. Our minds couldn’t process how something like this could happen to someone like Nancy.

And the reason? It was shocking. It was disgusting. It was a betrayal.

Someone—someone she once considered a friend, someone who used to work for her—stole her business right from under her. This person needs to be held accountable for what he did.

For over a year, Nancy’s husband, Mr. B, tried to renew her lease. He emailed, he called, he reached out multiple times. No response. While Nancy continued working, she lived in constant anxiety because her lease was set to expire on August 30, 2025. After that date, they were forced to operate month-to-month, hoping and praying the landlord would finally answer.

Then, in mid-November, without warning, they received a notice from the landlord’s attorney: Star Nails had to move out by November 30.
Fourteen days.
Fourteen days to shut down a business Nancy had built for 30 years.
Fourteen days before the holidays.
Fourteen days to tell employees—some who have been with her for 20 years—that they no longer had jobs.

The pain of that moment was like a knife to her heart. She couldn’t even bring herself to tell her employees right away. It was too much.

Then we found out the truth:
A new leaseholder had already signed a lease for her space—and they were opening another nail salon.

And who was the new leaseholder?
Andy.
The same Andy who contacted Nancy back in February wanting to buy her salon.
The same Andy she had open, honest conversations with about her business.
The same Andy she told about her lease issues—because she trusted him.

She even gave him her landlord’s contact information so he could understand the situation. And what did he do with that trust?

He negotiated a new lease for himself—behind her back.
He took her information, her vulnerability, her honesty, and used it against her.

And while Nancy was waiting for a lease renewal that never came, the lease was quietly signed with someone else.
Someone who stepped into the space she built with her blood, sweat, and tears.
Someone who pushed her out of her own business after 30 years.

Fourteen days’ notice after three decades of paying rent.
Fourteen days’ notice after building a community, a family, a legacy.

It is unacceptable. It is heartbreaking. It is inhumane.

I am sharing this because Nancy deserves justice. Her employees deserve justice. And people need to know how easily someone’s entire life’s work can be taken away—not because they failed, but because someone else decided to take what she built.

Where is the humanity?
Where is the loyalty?
Where is the respect?

Nancy deserved better.

And her story will not be buried in silence.
