HairlockSupreme
The lovely hair art of New Orleans hairlock, Anna Masks required.
The last two minutes undo more good work than anything else in this routine.
And if you put a bonnet on before it's fully dry, you've trapped water against your scalp
under a cover. Damp and occluded is the environment scalp fungus is looking for.
So: dry it completely, then give it a full 20 minutes to cool before you touch it, sleep
on it, or cover it.
How you know it's dry: drop the section into your hand and hold it for a couple of
seconds. Still holding heat means you're done. Goes cold fast means there's water in there
somewhere, so go right back to it. Hair that retains heat is hair that has lost its water.
Think about towels sitting warm in the basket while you get around to folding them. Every
one of those wrinkles is now permanent until the next wash. Warm hair behaves exactly the
same way. If you sleep on it warm, you are setting that shape on purpose whether you meant
to or not.

The Experience Customization Form is not a formality. Silence, a specific playlist, a flat iron tutorial, a real answer on that product you've been side-eyeing.
Tell me before you come in and I can actually prep for it. Ask me in the chair and you get five minutes and a guess.
Also in the app: an anonymous feedback form. Name optional. Tell me the playlist options are bad and I'll fix them. That's how disco got added.
Current clients → email me or use the app.
New here → fill out the form at wickedhues.com and I'll email you back about booking. 🖤
Day two flatness has a fix and it isn't more product.
Start at the front of your part and draw a diagonal line back. Take your whole hand, wide fingers, and push the roots in the opposite direction from how they're laying. Heat on for 8 to 10 seconds. Heat off for 8 to 10 seconds. Let it cool in that pushed position.
You're stretching the curl pattern slightly on the underside while leaving the curl intact on top. That's where the lift comes from. I call it the wrinkle release because it's the same idea as heat and cooling setting a wrinkle in laundry.
Do it again on the other side and in the back.
Works on day two and day three. No product, no restyling, no getting back in the shower.

"My Hair Likes Proten"... Spoiler alert. ALL hair likes protein. Some hair products lie to you about the protein content. Not all protein is the same. Eggs alone don't make a cake. The dosage makes the poison. And "my hair likes protein" does not actually tell me anything about what you like about the conditioner you're currently using so that I can make a recommendation that works for you.
You're allowed to have preferences. I'm willing to work with preferences. But "this magic ingredient" especially when that ingredient type is not even present in the product you like... is not a preference, and is not helpful.
What do you think?
Anyway... Where my nerds at? Anyone looking for a new hairstylist in New Orleans? lol

Will this get out and be seen by the people that need to see it?
Maybe not, but I've been trying for years to sound the alarm bells about this one.
Doing what I can...
That's the whole bit.
The usual place has the usual info!
