Looking Picture Perfect!

We are doing a lot more Video Calls these days and everyone is still into capturing Selfies so here are a few tips to look your very best.

1. Face Toward the Main Light Source
This means facing the light is your most flattering lighting always! Avoid being lit from the side or even worse overhead lighting which casts unflattering shadows that can make you look tired or older.

2. Always look at the Camera Lens not the Screen.

3. Hold your Cell Phone or Position your Computer where you're being filmed at Eye Level or a little Higher.
This has a Slimming Effect and it is your most flattering angle.

4. Don't get Too Close!
You'll look much better if you allow the camera to catch you from Mid Chest upwards allowing a bit of space above your head. Too close means people have a better view of your flaws and it can actually look a bit spooky!

A Natural and Inexpensive Way To Prevent Dark Circles Under the Eyes...

ARNICA
Arnica Gel has been called a Miracle for treating Dark Under Eye Circles.
The main reason for dark circles is usually Lack of Sleep but Allergies and the Enviroment as well as Hormonal Changes and not drinking enough Water are also contributors to this condition. Arnica is also great for Bruises.
Arnica is a plant in the same family as the Sunflower.
The way Arnica works on Dark Circles and Bruises is by boosting circulation of the white blood cells. The active ingredients in Arnica have the same properties as Caffeine which is why Arnica is also a great remedy for Puffiness and Swelling.
The Best Way to use Arnica Gel in my opinion is by keeping the tube in your refrigerator until you're ready to use it.
Apply the gel with your ring finger by gently dabbing it completely around your orbital area while avoiding getting it too close to your eyes.
Gently dabbing and massaging the Arnica Gel in a circular motion helps to stimulate Blood and Lymph Vessels to release and clear.
Always do a skin test on the inside of your arm before trying it around your eyes in the rare case you may be allergic.
Most Health Food Stores should carry Arnica Gel. My Favorite is the 365 Everyday Value brand at Whole Foods Market.

Dry Brushing!

Ever heard of it?
Dry Brushing is a Kind of Ayurvedic Medicine.
It is great for Exfoliating the Skin, Helps to Release Toxins, Reduce Cellulite (at least temporarily) and has been found to help with the appearance of Keratosis Pilaris which is Rough, Red Bumpy Skin that often appears on the Back of the Upper Arms.
Dry Brushing is done using a Natural Fiber Brush with a detachable Long Handle and gently brushing the skin directly without using water.
You start on the tops of your feet and work your way upwards gently brushing in upward strokes.

Today's Beauty Tip:

Yesterday I focused on keeping up with your Morning and Evening Skincare Regime regardless of what your day looks like.
That said, lets talk about the products you're applying after cleansing your Face, Neck and Decolletage....Don't forget! All three areas should be considered your Face! I also pay attention to the Back of my Neck and Behind my Ears for Cleansing and Applying Skincare Products.

Morning/Day Time Skincare:
I always wash my face in the morning with a gentle cleanser. My favorite is Obagi Gentle Cleanser. https://www.obagi.com/
My next step is Skin Medica TNS Recovery Complex https://www.skinmedica.com/products This is a potent serum that contains over 380 Growth Factors so a very little goes a long way (which is a good thing b/c it's a bit pricey). TNS Recovery Complex works on Tightening your skin and Diminishing Fine Lines. You'll be able to see and feel the effects right after you apply it. (Note: Put this product on immediately after you wash your face and pat it dry. I find your more likely to absorb the full benefits of this product while your pores are still dilated.)
Next I apply an Essential Oil and Peptide formula that I'm DYING to share with you but I've almost completely secured the exclusive rights to distribute it in the U.S. and it is Amazing! Everything is almost ready to go and I promise you'll be the very first to know! In the mean time apply Dr. Barbara Sturm Hyaluronic Acid (it comes in Ampule form) https://www.dr-barbara-sturm.com/ over your face, neck and decolletage. If there's any product left on my palms I like to apply it to the top of my hands. I actually do this with all of my face care products.

In the Evenings:

After most of the obvious makeup is removed I then wash my face in warm water using the Obagi Gentle Cleanser and my Clarasonic Mia Cleansing Brush https://www.clarisonic.com/
Once I pat dry, I apply Biopelle Tensage Intensive Serum 40 https://biopelle.com/products/biopelle-tensage-intensive-serum-40 This light weight serum has incredible Growth Factors that dramatically improve the Skin's Tone, Texture and Elasticity.
Once that is completely absorbed (I wait about 2 minutes) I apply my Prescription Strength Retinoid. There are many options such as Retin A, Green Cream...I prefer Tazorac 0.1%
I like to mix a pea size amount with that amazing new product I'm about to launch (Ugh, I know, I know lol) but for now save a little of your hyaluronic acid from the morning regime and blend those in together. I find it helps to spread the retinoid farther.

Your Beauty Regime in the Time of COVID

HELLO MY SWEET, BEAUTIFUL FRIENDS!!!
It's been a while since my last postings but there is no better time than now to start sharing some valuable pieces of information with all of you.

There's no disputing COVID-19 has completely disrupted everyone's lives World over and so for all of us nothing is normal or routine right now.
However, your Body, Hair and Skin should still be an important factor in you daily, weekly and monthly (at this point!) maintenance.
Our lives have been turned upside down which means our Diet, Sleep Patterns, Hormones, Stress Levels, Emotions, Daily Habits, etc...have been affected.
All of this disruption undoubtedly changes every part of us.
Over the next Couple of Weeks I will be posting Daily Beauty Tips that will, hopefully, benefit all of you and have you Armed and Ready to put your best YOU forward once our Lives open up and we get back out there!

Today I would like to address your general, daily Beauty Habits.
It's easy to become sedentary as we're confined to our homes and out of the work and social scene.
That said, it is important to keep up some form of your Skincare and Makeup Regime.
Wash your Face Morning and Night regardless of who is seeing you or what your day looks like.
Our Skin is our Largest and Most Important Organ and it doesn't know the World is on Quarantine!
Cells continue to grow, divide and shed. Sebaceous Glands continue to secrete oils, hairs continue to grow, Collagen and Elastin in your Dermis still needs attention, your skin still requires Moisture/ Hydration...and so on.
Use a Gentle Cleanser Morning and Night. I recommend either using a Clarasonic Mia Cleansing Brush or even a soft washcloth to help stimulate circulation and exfoliate your skin.
Any time you remove Dead Skin Cells and encourage Blood Circulation your Epidermis is more receptive of Nourishing Skincare Products and it is then stimulated to create Fresh, New Cells and produce more Skin Firming Collagen!
