These are just some things we- and probably every other small business owner- hear regularly. We get it! Prime two-day shipping, right to your door, and maybe even for a little cheaper. But there are trade-offs for the convenience. Third-party sellers, expired items, counterfeit products, and so many more issues can arise. Shopping small or ordering items through us means supporting your community and receiving genuine, authentic items from people you know. So, whether it's here at Shapers or downtown at one of New Paltz's other great shops, staying local helps more than you know. We appreciate it!🛍

Just got some new hot tools in and can't wait to use them on our clients! 💇‍♀️

Just kidding! These amazing curling irons belonged to a client's mother and we just had to share them with everyone. Tools like this date back to early- to mid-1900s and were typically heated in a hearth, gas stove, or in a separate tabletop heater called a Marcel stove. Because they lack temperature controls, stylists and users had to be careful not to scorch hair, usually testing the iron on a piece of paper to see if it would burn. It definitely makes us appreciate the hot tools we use today!👍

There's a new face at the salon! Please help us in welcoming Em! Em is New Paltz native with 15+ years in the industry who specializes in precision cutting, alternative looks, and creative color. She also works as a photographer, climbing, and other creative outlets! We can't wait to see what she brings to the Shapers family💜

We are currently accepting donations of personal care items to help support some of our local family shelters. They are in desperate need of products ranging from baby items to basic necessities, and much more. A full list of items needed is available through email or swing by and grab one at the desk! We're so happy to once again be supporting our friends at The Family Inn this holiday season!
