But as I poured and mixed, something shifted. I realized this wasn’t just about soap, it was about creating something intentional, something that made people feel good.✨ The truth?Building Stella & Throne Soapery wasn’t easy. Balancing business, personal growth, and life’s unexpected challenges took commitment and self-trust, things I had to learn along the way.🌱 Here’s what shifted for me:🛁 I embraced the process. If there’s one thing this move has taught me, it’s this: just because you CAN do something alone doesn’t mean you should.After my showdown with Mount Staircase (IYKYK 😅), I was surrounded by a jungle of IKEA parts, décor waiting to find its place, and an instruction manual that might as well have been written in hieroglyphics. I had two choices—either pretend I suddenly believed in minimalism or call in reinforcements.
Enter Mohamad.
I found Mohamad through Thumbtack which is basically the plug for finding skilled pros who actually know what they’re doing. He first helped me with a small project at home, but his kindness, patience, and problem-solving skills made him my go-to guy for anything requiring tools and actual know-how (because let’s be real, I’m more Wreck-It Ralph than Bob the Builder).
So when I needed help turning IKEA chaos into furniture, I called him and, true to form, he saved the day. But what I didn’t expect was the gift of something even better: Umm Kulthum.
Between the drilling and assembling, Mohamad introduced me to Umm Kulthum, Egypt’s Star of the East. Her music is timeless, emotional, and full of history…you don’t just listen to it, you feel it. And that moment reminded me exactly what this new space is about: connection, creativity, and the beauty of shared experiences.
This studio isn’t just a place to make soap, it’s a space to learn, grow, and be inspired. A place where community makes everything better. 💡 Lesson learned?

Service is more than a word in my family—it’s a legacy of courage, compassion, and dedication.
My dad’s journey began in the Army and continued through a lifetime of protecting and uplifting others—as a police officer, then as college director for over 30 years. From him, I learned that true service is a lifetime commitment to the well-being of others.
My brother Reggie followed that path, serving in the Army, earning his doctorate, and shaping countless lives as a university professor. He reminds us that service doesn’t stop—it evolves and echoes through every life touched.
And Earl, who first served in the Army, now continues to give back as a university nurse. His care brings healing and hope to those in need.
Growing up surrounded by their dedication taught me that service is rooted in love, resilience, and the belief that every act of care makes a difference. At Stella & Throne Soapery, we carry forward this spirit by creating spaces of connection, healing, and transformation. Every bar of soap crafted and every workshop held is an extension of their legacy.
Today, we honor my family and every veteran who has served. Your sacrifices, courage, and selflessness inspire us to be better, give more, and build communities filled with care and compassion.
