Construction on the downtown lighting project began last Monday morning, and progress is underway. Crews have removed concrete panels along the east side of Knowles Avenue and have taken down the existing light poles.

We know construction can be an inconvenience, and we sincerely appreciate the patience and understanding of our downtown business owners, residents, and visitors as this project moves forward. The improvements will help create a brighter, more welcoming downtown for everyone.

A huge thank you to everyone who followed the detoured routes, stayed patient through the traffic backups, and remained kind and respectful along the way. We know it wasn’t fun, but your cooperation helped keep everyone safe while the crew completed the work.

🚧 REMINDER- Knowles Avenue Railroad Crossing Closure: September 15–19 🚧

We know this closure is going to be a challenge for residents, businesses, delivery drivers, school traffic, emergency services, and commuters.

Whether you're trying to get the kids to school, make it to work on time, run errands, or just avoid another detour , we completely understand the frustration. While this work isn’t being coordinated by the City, we’re doing our best to help keep everyone informed.

Here’s what you need to know:
