How many of you have experienced that NERVOUS FEAR 😱😰when you come into the salon for a lightening service & get your hair freshly washed & the PANIC 🥵sets in?? Let’s walk you through this frightening moment: (yes, we can hold hands 🤝)
You come in, sit in the chair for at least an hour (most times about 2 hours), your head covered in pretty foils, you daydream about how gorgeous you are going to look with your sunkissed hair 🌞🔥🙌🏻, the bell rings & you’re ready to get these foils out & get washed!! You’re guided back to the station, you’re anticipating that first glimpse of radiant blonde, & you do it, you look at your gorgeous reflection…. But wait, WHAT? 🙀🙀Why is your hair so dark? Like, did the assistant wash out all that color? Or did the stylist not understand that you wanted LIGHTER not DARKER?? •
Let’s get you calm & explain what’s happening (don’t stress - you will get wrinkles and we can’t help you with those): When hair is wet💦 it doesn’t allow light to pass through & reflect off the surface, creating a darker & warmer look. When the hair is dried, more space exists between the hairs, thus more light penetrates & your color appears brighter & more luminous than its wet version. So what’s the moral of the story?
1️⃣Don’t freak out. You can always ask your stylist what’s happening & they will be happy to explain the science behind what’s happening.
2️⃣Always follow up your color service with a blowout. This will allow you & your stylist to see the end result & ensure your service has yielded the outcome you both wanted❤️. 3️⃣TRUST the process & your stylist. Choosing a stylist you trust, having a consultation before one foil hits your head, and being on the same page (this is a topic that will have its very own post soon!) is really important. ••

Color Corrections help clients achieve dramatic transformations! This client came to us after a negative experience (elsewhere) that left her hair ORANGE🍊! She was so unhappy with her hair that she constantly wore a hat or her hair up to hide it. 😱😱. No one should live like that!

Color corrections are not always one visit procedures. It’s something that clients sometimes do not understand. Especially when they may sit in our chair for anywhere from 2-5 hours! In order to correct the color but still maintain the integrity of the hair colorists have to take into consideration prior coloring, evaluate the strength of the hair to undergo the correction, & be HONEST about what will be necessary to achieve the client’s desired end result. This client was able to achieve what she wanted after 2 visits, & we are thrilled to be a part of her hair journey🥰 TIPS FOR A SUCCESSFUL COLOR CORRECTION: 1️⃣ Find a color correction specialist that you trust 2️⃣Have a consultation prior to any service 3️⃣ Be honest about past coloring services 4️⃣Together with your colorist come up with a hair game plan & be open to your colorists recommendations. .
