Your moisturizer is essentially the ingredients of a serum (water soluble/hydrating) combined with oils, butters and/or waxes (oil soluble/moisturizer or sealing), plus emulsifiers & stabilizers (to keep oil & water from separating), texturizers (to create a pleasing “feel”), preservatives & antibacterials (to extend shelf life), fillers (to dilute costly ingredients), and irritating/drying perfumes (to make it smell nice).

All of those base ingredients are diluting and counteracting the actives you want.

Instead, you can simply combine your favorite serum with our oils to hydrate and moisturize without all the garbage.

Either mix them in the palm of your hand (voilá – you’ve just made a moisturizer!) and apply, or apply in layers beginning with serum and finishing with oil.

I’ve been leaning pretty heavily on our Tamanu lately as my go to moisturizer. After a long day of mask wearing I rinsed my face and reached for the Maracuja + Calendula oil and was immediately struck by how soft and silky it is.
