I do free repairs too often!
Many nail techs fall into this trap because we want to be nice to clients. But if every repair is free, two things happen:
you lose money and clients start seeing repairs as something that’s automatically included.

Here’s a better approach:

1. Define what is actually your responsibility.
If a nail lifts or breaks within a short guarantee period (for example 48 hours) due to application, it’s fair to repair it for free.

2. After that – repairs are paid.
Once clients have worn their nails for several days, breakage is usually related to lifestyle, impact, or natural nail growth, not your work.

3. Communicate your repair policy clearly.
Example:
“Repairs are complimentary within 48 hours. After that they are charged per nail.”

4. Educate clients about nail care.
Many breaks happen because clients use their nails as tools, open cans, or don’t wear gloves when cleaning.

5. Remember: boundaries protect your business.
Being professional doesn’t mean fixing everything for free — it means having clear policies that respect your time and skill.

A small policy change can save you hours of unpaid work every month. 💅
