West Indian Game Day with was a VIBE last Saturday. Good people, good food, good energy, as the Star of the show, half time performance, a NY Liberty win and BIG West Indian energy made for a GREAT day.

I don’t think I ever just knew ‘I got it’.

What I knew was I had a gift, the need to create a pathway for myself and my daughter, confirmation through a dream (literally) and enough friends and family encouraging me to nurture this gift. I knew there had to be something here worth cultivating. And if I was going to pursue this, I wanted to be one of the best to ever do it. 🤷🏾‍♀️

So, I sat in rooms with artists better than me. I chased education and elevation. I practiced ALOT. I invested ALOT. I messed up and came back better. I kept nurturing and refining the gift until my hands could finally carry what I God had already shown me.

Looking back at those first faces beside the work my hands create now, I don’t just see improved technique.
I see stewardship. I see what can happen when you refuse to bury what was entrusted to you.

And I know harvest isn’t fully reaped yet.

I don’t know about you, but when it comes to white, I have serious trust issues.

So before my makeup gets anywhere near my white shirt, I spray it generously with Infallible Setting Spray, almost like I’m using starch, then let it dry completely before putting my shirt on.

I use the same spray to set all over the face, focusing on my chin, neck and chest (if i applied makeup there).

Face stays flawless and my shirt collects no evidence.

To the Mother struggling through the sacrifices and cannot see the other side - keep pouring into yourself, your healing, keep pouring into your child and truly give this ALL to God.

The road may not look the way you imagined, but provision comes, healing is very possible, your purpose can still unfold (let go and make room). Because it goes fast, and one day you’ll look up and realize you both made it.

A few more weeks before my lovingbird Emma W. F. leaves the nest. 🥹😊
