Making postnatal care essential.
👶🐥❤️
In this position, you lean back comfortably with support from pillows or a chair and place your baby tummy to tummy on your chest, allowing them to self-latch. Because you are reclined, gravity helps slow the flow of milk, making it easier for your baby to manage the milk and stay coordinated while feeding.
This position can also help reduce coughing, choking, or pulling off the breast that sometimes happens with a strong let down. It is gentle on your back and shoulders too.
Safety tip: Always make sure you are fully awake while feeding or have someone nearby to keep an eye out, as it is easy to get cozy and drift off.
Have you tried breastfeeding in a reclined position? Share your experience in the comments! 🤱✨
August is National Breastfeeding Month, a time to honor the parents putting in this work every single day and to champion the support that makes it possible. Whether you’re breastfeeding, pumping, combo feeding, or formula feeding: you are showing up for your baby, and that’s worth celebrating. 🤍
Feeding your baby is a full-time job, full stop. Every feed, every ounce, every 2am moment of connection is real, dedicated work, and it deserves to be celebrated 🎉
