Deuce & Zeus: Forbidden Wheat

Doug Hogan and I have been best buds since 2nd grade. In high school Doug played many sports and his number was 22. This is where the "Deuce" comes in. I was nicknamed "Zeus" because of my curly hair and tall stature. Since Doug moved to New York 2 years ago we wanted to find a way to stay connected. After a few months we found that brewing would be a great hobby for us and would also force us to hang out with each other. We were looking to create a unique beer with elements that reminded us of growing up back home. We found that the mellow feel of the wheat and sweet/tart flavor of white figs was the perfect blend of Southern charm and country living. Forbidden Wheat won the 2015 "Spirit of Coney Island" award at the Coney Island Homebrew Competition in March 2015. Join us in drinking and brewing good beer.
