If someone you love is a surgery related specialist ….. there’s probably a lot they don’t say out loud. Like how “I’m just tired” actually means mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual exhaustion.

How they are holding stories they will never because even talking about it feels to heavy.

They might not respond to text right away not because they don’t care…..
But because their nervous systems is fried and silence feels than small talk.

They are been to be the strong ones the fixer. And the calm in storm.
But under the surface? They’re often the one the one who need holding the most.

And what they need from you isn’t solutions or pep talks
It’s softness.
Its presence.
It’s someone doesn’t expect they to hold it all together after holding so much for everyone else.

Remind them they are allowed
To rest,
To feel,
To be loved-simply for being human
