I found this in my girlfriend’s bedroom… does anyone know what it is? Check the first comment for the answer 👇
My husband asked me to keep upstairs during his promotion dinner, since I wasn't "back in shape" three weeks after delivering twins—I didn't protest, but he wasn't aware of what I'd done before leaving the dining room.
Three weeks after giving birth, every movement ached. Swelling lingered, and sleep came only in short shifts.
Lucas announced his boss and colleagues were coming for a dinner. I imagined it would be catered.
He laughed softly.
"This promotion could change everything. I want the night to be perfect."
Lucas worked all day. I looked after the house: cleaning, changing towels, shining w**e glasses, roasting chicken, managing potatoes and salad, and baking a chocolate cake—with one baby in a carrier on my chest.
By six, pain shot up my back when I bent over.
Lucas came home just before guests were due, then showered, changed, inspected the table, and grinned.
"This looks amazing."
Then he turned to me.
His smile vanished.
"You're not joining us for dinner, right?"
I paused. "Why not?"
His eyes scanned my dress and midsection.
"You aren't exactly in shape yet."
I didn't know what to say.
"I had twins three weeks ago."
"I know." He spoke quietly, as if embarrassed. "But these people notice. You're tired, still swollen, just not looking presentable."
My skin flushed hot.
He sighed loudly.
"If my boss notices that I can't present my wife well, what's he going to think about my leadership?"
One of the twins cried upstairs.
Lucas grimaced.
"Exactly. Just stay with them upstairs. I'll tell the guests you're unwell."
I looked at the table, the food, then back at Lucas.
The doorbell chimed.
Lucas adjusted his tie.
"Please, no scene tonight."
I kept my gaze on him.
Then smiled faintly.
"Fine."
He looked relieved.
"Thank you."
With baby monitor in hand, I went upstairs.
Lucas was unaware I’d left a surprise behind.
For nearly an hour, party sounds filtered up. Silence suddenly fell.
Lucas's shocked voice echoed through the house.
"Oh my God! What the hell is this?!"
I smiled quietly,
took the twins, and descended the stairs—intent on witnessing the result.

My neighbor kept siphoning gas from my old pickup because I was "retired, sat at home, and didn't need the gas anyway" — so I finally wiped that smug smile off his face.
I'm 70 years old, a widower, and I live alone in a small house in a quiet suburban neighborhood.
I still drive an old pickup truck I've owned since the 1990s.
It doesn't look like much anymore.
But that truck means a lot to me.
After all these years, I know almost exactly how much fuel it uses and roughly how much I spend on gas every week.
Then, a few weeks ago, I started noticing something strange.
One day, I filled the tank completely, drove to a small job not far from home, and then stayed home for three days.
When I got back into the truck, nearly half the tank was gone.
That made absolutely no sense.
I'd barely driven anywhere.
The next week, the same thing happened again.
Since the pickup was old, I took it to my mechanic.
I figured there had to be a leak somewhere.
How else could that much gas simply disappear?
He checked everything.
Then he told me the truck was completely fine.
No fuel leak.
No mechanical problem.
Nothing.
Honestly, I had no idea what was happening.
Then, for some reason, I decided to install a security camera facing the driveway.
Something in my gut told me I should.
And as it turned out, I was right.
The next morning, I checked the footage and nearly fell out of my chair.
My neighbor, Clark, had walked onto my property late at night.
He opened the fuel cap on my pickup.
Then used a hose to siphon gas into a can.
So that was where my fuel had been going.
I immediately walked over to his house and knocked on the door.
"Have you been siphoning gas out of my pickup? What the hell are you doing?"
Clark looked at me.
Then he actually laughed.
"Yeah, I take a little. Have you seen gas prices lately? You're retired anyway. You sit at home and barely use it. I have to get to work and take my kids to school."
I stared at him.
"Clark, you can't steal gas from me. That's not normal."
He shrugged.
"God, you're so greedy. So I take a couple gallons. Big deal. We're neighbors. We're supposed to help each other."
My stomach turned.
Clark had always been that kind of person.
And he wasn't poor.
He had a good-paying job.
He was simply cheap.
Over the years, he'd borrowed tools.
Lawn equipment.
Extension cords.
And all kinds of other things from me.
Most of it never came back unless I repeatedly asked for it.
I'd finally had enough.
Calling the police would've been easy.
But before doing anything else, I came up with another idea.
Nothing dangerous.
Nothing that could damage his property.
I just wanted Clark to understand that stealing from an old man wasn't nearly as funny when the entire neighborhood knew about it.
The following evening, Clark came home and found something waiting for him on his front porch.
Let's just call it a special surprise from me.
The second he saw it, he screamed so loudly that half the neighborhood came outside.
Doors opened.
Curtains moved.
People walked into their yards to see what was happening.
And when they realized exactly what was sitting on Clark's porch—and why—his face went bright red.
For once, nobody was laughing with him.
