Hey beauty besties ✨ With the new year approaching, new followers, & so many beautiful things in store for the Beauty by Lakirah brand in the near future, I thought this would be the perfect time to drop a little information about myself. I was inspired to re-introduce myself by

My name is Lakirah, (Luh-Kir-ruh) & I am a self taught part time Professional Makeup Artist. I am a Brooklyn, NY girl at heart, as I was born & raised there. I’ve been doing makeup professionally for approximately 3 years. I refer to myself as The Glam Guru, expert on all things glam, as this is my makeup specialty. I pride myself on creating clean, crisp makeup looks with a POP. I also teach one on one & small group makeup lessons, as I believe makeup is a tool for uncovering intrinsic beauty, and we all are capable of learning how to do so. Currently, I service clients in both Newark, NJ & more recently Brooklyn, NY.

Outside of makeup, I am a School Counselor and Psychotherapist, and received both my Undergraduate & Master’s degree from the University at Albany 💛💜 I purchased & applied my first bottle of foundation during my Sophomore year (man, I looked a mess lol), & the rest was history. I am also in the midst of beginning Esthetics school to become a Licensed Esthetician next year, which I believe will open a world of opportunities for my clientele (stay tuned 😉).

I have a Youtube channel (Beauty by Lakirah) where I plan to focus on all things beauty, & a little lifestyle so that people can get to know the person behind the brushes a bit more (It’s honestly been a struggle to create content & my channel is a work in progress, so bare with me 😂).

Each day my brain is churning with ideas on how to make my client experience better, which is why I pride myself on my services & all that I have to offer. For those who I have serviced, I just have to say thank you for trusting me to glam you up, & be the keeper of your stories. To my future clients, thank you in advance.
