Kick’em when their up kick’em when their down, kick’em all around :
The other day I heard this song and have found myself thinking about the words. How often we see things on the news, on FB, in our community and even with our friends and we assume the worst or find ourselves immersed in the gossip of a situation. It is easy to kick’em when their down and sometimes we kick’em when their up out of jealousy and envy. Most of us, if we’re honest beat ourselves up enough and don’t need someone on the outside helping. This morning on the lake I find myself feeling worn and I am thankful for a friendly reminder to go to the water. GRACE is what I needed today. GRACE is what I can give myself today. GRACE is available to you today also if you will accept it. God gives it freely! He doesn’t care about your past, he just cares about YOU! His unconditional love never ends, his forgiveness is always and when he hand delivers someone into your life that HE KNOWS you are WORTHY OF, ACCEPT IT!

Today let’s not Kick’em down, up or around but let’s love like Jesus. Love yourself, give grace to others( you’re not wearing their shoes)give grace to yourself and accept the gifts GOD has for you! Jeremiah 29:11 HIS PLANS ARE GOOD

You all know if you’ve been following for anytime now that kayaking is my jam. It is my favorite place to meet God and wrestle with my thoughts.Yesterday was no different but in the most beautiful place with a gratefulness in each stroke of the water.
Gratefulness can be overlooked sometimes by the chaos in our lives. Taking a step into the beauty of creation teaches me to pause and say “Thank you”

Thank you to who you might ask?

Start your “thank you” with yourself… when was the last time you thanked yourself? For what, you might ask. How about for just showing up. Recognizing you needed to pause and take a few deep breaths. Self awareness doesn’t come easy for most of us. It takes work. It’s a process, yet checking in with yourself is ok. I give you permission to not be ok and to say I’m taking a break.
Go to your place! Breathe 🧘 in and out and find that still small voice that offers you gratefulness.

I couldn’t end this post without being grateful for Team Chrysalis! These girls know me, get me, support me and are protective of me through it all. I couldn’t go away and relax without them. Grateful is an understatement when I think about the family I have in them.

What’s in your bathroom ? Summer favorites!

Morning and I thought I would just share… someone else might need it also!
We have all had painful circumstances in our lives. Often we think we have let go of the pain yet we are often dragging it behind us. As we drag it along, others don’t necessarily see it or know that the isolation into our screen, the poor eating habits or the entrancement into a hobby is really just our way of avoiding the pain and the fear of what it might feel like if I let it go.

As I’m learning to heal and let go myself I can tell you every chain that breaks is freedom. It allows me to think different, it allows me to step out of the old boxes and into the big bucket list of things I desire to accomplish.
Break your chains! Let go of the past and heal one day at a time

I love when memories come up and they remind me of the WHY? of Chrysalis Hair Designs. This was the Walk for the Cure Pink Strides Breast Cancer walk we started here in Licking County in June of2008. It wasn't a big crowd and I didn't know where it would lead but it was a lot of fun. It has inspired me to always be an advocate for women, our community and to add wigs and hairpieces to the salon to provide a local resource for those who are effected by cancer.
Never under estimate a small dream God puts in your heart! It might not lead where you thought but HIS plan is ALWAYS greater!

It’s hard to have an inside job on a beautiful day! Thankful for small gaps in the schedule to get outside an enjoy the sunshine!

Licking Memorial Hospital offers a monthly Cancer Support Group for individuals with cancer, their caregivers, and those who have lost loved ones, regardless of where treatment is administered. We are pleased to announce the expansion of our monthly Cancer Support Group with a new quarterly educational series, Empowerment Through Beauty, beginning on Tuesday, May 26. Local business owner Michele Lawrence of Chrysalis Hair Designs will lead an interactive session covering oncological skincare safety, therapeutic makeup techniques, and comprehensive guidance on selecting and maintaining wigs.
