Spreading Beauty and Inspiring YOU A desire to make a difference and touch people’s lives, led to the opening of Chrysalis Hair Designs in April 2007.

That vision grew and a desire to create space where our guests could visit, relax, and leave feeling beautiful and inspired became a key element to our mission. At Chrysalis Hair Design, know that beauty is recognized on the outside first, but we strive to remind each and every guest that true beauty is on the inside. Spreading Beauty and Inspiring YOU is all part of the service with each and every appointment.

Sometimes God doesn’t place you where you want to be—He places you where you need to be.

This morning, that place was the canal at Buckeye Lake.

I had every intention of heading out onto the open water, but the wind had other plans—and honestly, I didn’t feel like fighting it. And maybe that’s the lesson. Sometimes in life, we don’t feel like paddling hard. We just want to sit, float, and let time pass. But life doesn’t really work that way.

At some point, we have to move.

We have to make decisions, shift our mindset, and create new patterns. Because in all of that… there is growth. And when we stop growing, we stop truly living.

If you know me, you know I come to the lake for clarity—for peace, for solitude. Just being near the water calms me. This morning, as I paddled through the quiet canal, I found myself thinking about the week ahead—a meeting that could change a lot—and lifting up prayers for people who need clarity and comfort, not just in their minds, but in their bodies too.

There’s something about the rhythm of the paddle hitting the water—the squish, splash—that reminds me of life itself. We dip in, we pull back. We test the waters, then retreat. Over and over again.

But the question is… are you brave enough to go deeper?

Are you willing to step into something new—to follow the path God is placing in front of you, even when it feels uncertain?

We’ve all heard it: don’t miss the forest for the trees.

If you’re reading this and there’s something on your heart—a dream, a calling, a desire you’ve been afraid to pursue—let today be the day you take the first step.

It doesn’t have to be big.
Write it down.
Give it a name.
Make the call.
Do the search.

Just start.

You may not be able to walk on water—but you can swim through it.

So take the step.
Dip your toe in.
And let each paddle move you further away from fear… and closer to your future.

Well… here we are on a Tuesday again, and it feels like another moment of truth 💭

Lately, I’ve been working on getting healthier—working out, eating better… and if I’m honest, some days just feel better than others.

This morning on my way to the YMCA, I caught myself thinking… *is it even worth it?*
The scale isn’t moving. The tape measure isn’t changing.
And truthfully? I don’t want just a slice of cake… I want the whole thing 😅
Anyone else with me?

But here’s what I want to remind you of today:

✨ It matters. ALL of it matters. ✨
Why? Because **YOU matter.**

As women, we show up for everyone else so easily… yet somehow forget to show up for ourselves.

So today, showing up—even when I didn’t feel like it—wasn’t about anyone else. It was about ME.

It’s not always the workout… it’s the mindset.
It’s choosing the water over the extra caffeine.
It’s lifting the weight—even if it’s just one.
It’s moving your body—even if it’s just a few steps.

Let me ask you…
Did you get out of bed today?
Brush your teeth?
Take a shower?
Lift 1 weight or maybe 5?
Walk 200 steps or 10,000?

It. ALL. matters.

Every single step you take toward showing up for yourself… matters 🤍

Here’s your Tuesday truth:
Anyone else feel the slap in the face on this verse….
Let’s be honest, forgiveness is HARD especially depending on the situation. Remembering that the hurt you hold doesn’t ever hurt the other person, it only festers in your heart creating bitterness and resentment.
Who needs this today… I don’t know 🤷🏼‍♀️ but it is a beautiful reminder that while we want to fight for ourselves and sometimes that’s ok but for the deep wounds and the hard forgives… stop hurting yourself and give those to the Lord… HE WILL AVENGE FOR YOU!
Don’t carry what isn’t yours and most importantly Look in the mirror, give yourself grace and know that YOU ARE WORTHY AND CHOSEN!

Ranger thought he needed to enjoy the hammock today ??? What about you? Have you taken a little down time for yourself ?

If you know me at all, you know one thing — I’m not afraid to share a few vulnerable thoughts.

Sometimes when I share them people assume I’m sad or unhappy. While that isn’t always untrue, what I truly am is grateful that God has given me a voice… a voice to speak truth not just over myself, but hopefully into the lives of others.

The other evening I was sitting in my new home office waiting for it to be time to go out. I was excited for the night. Then a text came through… plans cancelled. No real explanation. Just like that.

I sat there disappointed and honestly a little angry. And in that moment one word hit me loud and clear: PRIORITY.

As women we tend to make everyone else our priority.
Our spouses.
Our kids.
Our friends.
Our jobs.
Even our pets.

But what about YOU?

Where do you fall in that equation?

Sitting there with tears in my eyes I realized something… for years I have put myself last.

So that night I wiped my tears, changed my clothes, grabbed a friend and went out anyway.

Why should I miss the experience just because someone else didn’t see it as important?

It was important to me.

Here’s what I’m learning:

Showing up for yourself is hard.
Showing up for yourself sometimes means saying no to something else.
Showing up for yourself means letting go of guilt.
Showing up for yourself means allowing yourself to feel.

And showing up for yourself means accepting that YOU are human.

You have needs.
You have desires.
You have dreams.

And it’s okay to honor them.

A friend recently told me her counselor said something simple but powerful:

“Date yourself.”

You don’t need someone else to fill the silence in order to show up for YOU. Sometimes the most important relationship you will ever build is the one you have with yourself.

So here’s your reminder today:
You are allowed to be a priority too.
