As many know, our family was profoundly affected by childhood cancer about 16 years ago, and luckily for us the outcome never reached its darkest potential. Nevertheless, there is never a day that goes by that that experience doesn’t cross my mind, and undoubtedly there will never be a day that I don’t thank the universe for keeping my daughyer here on Earth. Each of us in our family takes away our own scars and I am so proud that my amazing son Dillon, a member of SgEp at UMaine Orono, is giving back to do his part in sparing a family the devastation that we were spared.
