Not gonna lie, folks, this post is a tough one.
But after nearly 17 years working in Newburyport, and almost eight years in my own private practice, the time has come for me to say good-bye. I will be closing my practice at 150 Merrimac Street in just a few short weeks to focus my time on my new home in Rochester, MA and to explore new opportunities. It sounds trite, but words CANNOT express the joy/encouragement/camaraderie I have experienced from you all. From my first day at Massage Only back in 2006, to my first day in my Merrimac St office in 2015, through a worldwide viral pandemic (face cradles lined with pillow cases, anyone?), and these last few months of long commutes and major transitions, my clients and officemates have been there for me in ways you may not even realize.

I’ve been witness to so many life changes, births, deaths, retirements, new careers, new relationships, new parents, new grandparents, life-altering injuries, life-saving surgeries, it boggles the mind! The utter privilege of it all just astounds me. We’ve shared laughs, tears, baby pictures, grand baby pictures, great-grand baby pictures (!), vacation shots, travel stories, movie & tv recommendations, books, restaurants, you name it, we’ve talked about it.

But after 22 years massaging full-time, my body is telling me in many ways that I need to rest. I once estimated how many massages I gave in an average year—approximately 1000, give or take. Which means I’ve given somewhere in the neighborhood of 20-22,000 massages over the course of my career. Yowza… and boy, am I feelin’ it.

I’m not sure what I expected my life to look like back when I first started my massage training in Seattle all those years ago, but I’m pretty sure it couldn’t have predicted what I have now—the most amazing community of people I’ve been privileged to work with, laugh with, heal with. Thank you for being a part of my life, and for coming to my table. ❤️

Sadly, this lovely woman is no longer with us, but the sentiment remains… I’m truly so grateful for my clients past and present, whose lives I’ve been vicariously invited into, and who’ve stuck with me through the last 2+ years of near constant transitions. Due to the rise in Covid infections and widespread of Omicron, masks will be required in my office, and during your sessions, regardless of vaccination status. As of Sept 1, my prices will increase as follows:

30 minutes - $60
60 minutes - $90
90 minutes - $120
Hot Stone - $120

All current gift certificates and packages will be honored for the service they were purchased for.

As of Oct 1, my Newburyport schedule will be limited to Sundays/Mondays, as I will be moving to Martha’s Vineyard at the end of September. I will still work my regular schedule thru 9/27. My new schedule as of 10/1 will be as follows: Sunday 12-7, Monday 9-4. At this time, I am only scheduling my current clients from October onward, and will open up any available time slots online on a weekly basis. Any questions, please feel free to reach out!

There are currently three known cases of the delta variant on Martha’s Vineyard as well. With Yankee Homecoming looming, and with it a huge influx of tourists, please consider continuing to mask up indoors even if you are vaccinated. Stay safe!

Another popular Cape summer destination issues new face mask advisory Town health officials say they are issuing the advisory due to increasing number of COVID-19 cases in the region, as well as the greater risk of infection from the delta variant.

Happy Wednesday folks! Just a quick clarification of my mask policy, since I’ve had a few questions lately. Clients who are fully vaccinated against Covid (ie: two weeks post final shot) and are willing to provide a vaccine card to verify, may remove their mask while in the treatment room. Clients who are as yet unvaccinated, or unwilling to provide a vaccine card, must continue to wear a face covering while receiving your massage. There will be no exceptions to this policy. Just to keep you all in the loop, I’ve received my second Pfizer vaccine dose, and I encourage any and all who can, to get it as soon as it’s available to you. I did this as a way to keep myself as safe as possible, and to keep everyone around me as safe as I can. Mask mandates are still in place for the time being, but hopefully the more people are vaccinated and the sooner herd immunity can be reached, we can all get back to life as we remember it. If anyone has any questions, feel free to ask, either here or private message, I’m happy to answer what I can. 🙂

Prices are as follows: $110/60 minutes or $140/90 minutes. Cash, checks, and all major credit cards accepted.
