French Twist Salon was founded in 2012 by Master Stylist/Colorist Hayley Bateman, whose focus was to build a hidden gem in the heart of the community. French Twist is a carefully curated salon with modern French-inspired design, high ceilings, marble countertops and unique sculptural elements in every corner. It contains five styling stations, a large color bar for customizing each individual’s color formula and floor-to-ceiling windows to maximize the natural light and expose the beauty and culture of Newburyport’s downtown environment. French Twist Salon is Hayley’s passion; her expansive knowledge of the field and exceptional techniques have resulted in a salon that has some of the most talented stylists in the Boston area. They have perfected the art of making every client feel beautiful and confident and are masters of their craft, customizing each and every haircut. They are known as “The Queens of the Curl” and their blowouts are the most sought after must-have treatments. The name French Twist Salon offers a nod to the history of couture hair, specifically the legendary French twist hairstyle trend that became popular decades ago. More importantly, it signifies a new era for salons located in the Greater Boston area and celebrating all types of hairstyles – current, vintage or ones with a “twist.”
